that's sweet. One of these days I would love to get one of those and hang it on my wall...

Have you ever noticed the folded note in Nicholsons right hand and the guy behind him attempting the lower his arm?

I bought that photo for my wife one year. She loves decorating for Halloween and I thought it would be an awesome, subtle addition.

For me, it is still one of THE creepiest films I've ever seen. From my perspective as a writer, to the truisms of the real hotel being genuinely haunted...I watch it every year around the end of October.

I just saw the original print of this used in the movie at the Stanley Kubrick Exhibition in Amsterdam, I think the exhibit is going on tour to the States next, first LA then not sure where after but Its a must see!!

Curated by Kubricks wife and his brother in law ( who also directed the excellent life in pictures documentary) and absolutely loaded with original props and costumes, letters and photos from all his movies, personal cameras and loads of movie lens equipment ( including the ex nasa Zeiss f0.7 lens he used to shoot Barry Lyndon with)

from the Shining, the little girls dresses, Jack's axe and Shelley's Knife are all there and loads more I'm forgetting.

can't recommend it highly enough, if it comes to your area - GO!!

Wow hopefully this comes to the east coast! I'll have to see if I can look it up.

Thank you for posting this. LACMA here in L.A. is hosting a Kubrick film series in conjunction with the exhibit; I just booked my tickets for 2001. It'll be the first time I've seen it in 70mm since I was a kid.

Looking forward to viewing the props in person as well!
