Default The Ultimate Avengers collection on April 24

Is this the first cartoon/non-CG animated movie on blu-ray?

LOL, I dont really. :P

The cover looks pretty decent. This is also the first I'v eheard that they're packing the movies together. I guess thats the only way they'll get me to buy part 2. LOL.

If only there were some way to erase it off the disc... :P

It doesn't matter, they're both terrible and they haven't even bothered to upgrade the sound for Blu. I bought them both on DVD and wish I hadn't.

LOL< I netflixed them both. Only really enjoyed a couple of the actions scenes in the first one, despised the second one.

But I will buy it for the first movie if only to support animation on BRD.

Default Ultimate Avengers and Ultimate Avengers 2 on one BD50

Lionsgate working on double-feature Blu-ray Discs

Up for pre-order on Amazon.ca (at less than the DVD on Amazon.com)

We all know that no studio will ever release on BD50 what they could do on two BD25.

Another of the great anti-BD myths dies.

This part is pretty funny.

"Lionsgate is the first studio to offer two full-length movies on a single Blu-ray Disc. It's similar to when Universal first manufactured a double-sided HD DVD disc that contains the high-definition version of the movie on one side and a regular, standard definition DVD on the other side."

Similar? Similar?

Good news..has to cut the cost on all those multi-disc T.V series

Yeah, the Hulk fight was the best part about the 'series' so far. The second movie was abysmal. I'll be buying this for the first one still.

It was not all that bad, although it did have it ups and downs. You can't expect that much from an animated movie that was a straight to dvd release.

Lionsgate working on double-feature Blu-ray Discs

Los Angeles (CA) - In the first big move for high definition formats this year, Lionsgate Films has announced that it will start making Blu-ray Discs that contain two movies on a single disc.

Trade magazine Video Business reports that Lionsgate will release Ultimate Avengers and Ultimate Avengers 2 on one 50 GB BD on April 24. It will be the HD format premiere for both titles and will carry a suggested retail price of about $40.

In addition, there's still room for bonus features, which Video Business says includes a trivia track and two special featurettes.

Lionsgate is the first studio to offer two full-length movies on a single Blu-ray Disc. It's similar to when Universal first manufactured a double-sided HD DVD disc that contains the high-definition version of the movie on one side and a regular, standard definition DVD on the other side.

A 50 GB Blu-ray is single-sided so it isn't a flipper.

Movies are probably small enough to fit both on one disc...At least that would be my guess.

I think they're 72 min. & 73 min. respectively for a total of 145 min.

I didn't get it on DVD but I sure will get it on Blu-Ray. My brother got them, said the first one is better than the second one but they're both worth getting. I heard Iron Man is a waste, but Dr. Strange has piqued my interest.

Default Ultimate Avengers at BestBuy early?

I saw it and wanted to buy it today, but was shocked at the price. 34.99. Thats crazy even for BestBuy! I guess they are trying to market as 'two movies'?

In any case, as mediocre as I found part 1, and as much as I was bored with part 2, I'll be buying it to support animation on BRD.

Anyone else?

(*off to preorder at amazon*)

Remember, all they did was slap the DVD version in 1080p in it, same soundtrack (DD5.1), same extras, same everything.

Considering Avengers1 was mediocre at best and 2 sucked, I would encourage people to rent this one first.
