Well acording to this news story we will see this in 2012.

Can't wait for this! And I hope we see it early to mid 2012 rather than having to wait until Nov or Dec. for it.

I think the chances are pretty good for the abyss and true lies coming to blu ray. cameron is releasing titanic in 3d. He will be done with that. maybe they will release the abyss/true lies about that time.

The original article was posted over a year ago. As bad as I want The Abyss on Blu-Ray posting a rumor from 15 months ago seems pretty pointless to me.

I really hope The Abyss and True Lies (not to mention Cameron-approved versions of T1 and T2) are released before he gets in deep with Avatar 2/3.

This is in dire need of a decent release. It never even had a 16/9 transfer on DVD.

I've seen True Lies OTA HD and thought it looked pretty good! Although I have not seen Abyss OTA HD yet...has it been aired on any of the movie channels?

The only OTA HD version of the Abyss that I think exists may not even be HD and it certainly looks like crap.

Really? Do you know what channel it was on? Maybe, at that time, the signal was heavily compressed?

Yup.Japanese one;and the only HD copy of "The Abys" available (Special Edition)
