Oooh, good one. How could I forget about that critter?

Funny, Balrogs and Rancours look so similar.

Correct. I would not have even thought of it without your pic of the Rancour.

And lets not forget that Sauron bigger boss Melkor, had a whole army of them along with some dragons too.

Let's see....

The Jedis got their lunch handed to them by one Sith. Right under their noses. They're incompetent, those Jedis!
Can you imagine what the ONE RING will do to them???

It is Canon that NOTHING can kill a Sith except another Sith, or Sith to be (Anikan took down Dooku as a final part of his training, though he didn't realize it and Darth Maul was never a real Sith as quoted by Dooku in the Revenge book, more a Dark Jedi, an "animal" he called him).

Sauron was taken down by a man. Saruman's army was defeated by trees which could be easily destroyed by the Clone Army or a single Jedi or Sith, or advanced weapon (see the Planet Devatators from the comics).

A lone Jedi or Sith would not defeat an army of 10,000 orcs in a battle using standard Jedi weaponry (lightsaber and the force). Put her in a ship, I suppose she could just blast them continuously from the sky from a safe distance. Of course, if this is the case, she wouldn't have to be a Jedi/Sith. She could be Carol Burnett.

That said, Star Wars ftw.

Ewoks vs Sauromans Army would be a better battle.
Star Wars would win. I would even give the ewoks the upper hand.

A single Jedi with the power of Obi-Wan or Yoda could take down anything. "Judge me by my size do you?"

A single Sith Lord CAN NOT be killed by ANYTHING other than another Sith. That's canon. It's why Anikan HAD to become Darth Vader, because otherwise Palpatine could not be stopped. It's not a matter of power, it's a matter of chance. The force has a will, and when it comes to Jedi's it would manipulate the universe and allow them to win. A Sith can change the will of the force. As such, one sith versus 10,000 orcs, SOMETHING would happen and the orcs would be defeated.

Read the books of the movies. They're official and explain a lot of background on how the force works and how Jedi and Sith use it to their advantage.

If a Sith is on a planet that is destroyed, whether by natural causes such as a supernova or by something like the Death Star, would said Sith continue to live? Same question about Yoda or Obi Wan. Plus, didn't Jengo Fett kill a Jedi? Lastly, if a Sith dies in a forest, and no one else is around to hear it, is she truly dead?

Looks like Lucas got his idea's for SW from LOTR book
No he didn't. Not at all. His inspiration came from the original Flash Gordon TV series from the 50s. And, those comparisons aren't very accurate, IMO.

How can an army of 10,000 go up against an entire universe? But if it was fair, rings would win as most of the characters have actual skill. Take away the technology in star wars (say if star wars were disarmed or something) then it's only the Jedi and sith that would actually be a challenge. And there's not many of them.
