Best Buy

Could be Best Buy exclusive. They recently had other Paramount titles as exclusives (Naked Gun, Airplane, etc)

Man this is incredible news if true. This is one of the big titles I've been waiting for.

Paramount's done a pretty good job with its catalogs, and this is a big fish in that pond. So I look forward to a great package. And if it's exclusive perhaps it's not just amaray packaging; I'd gladly take a digibook of this title.

My blu budget will be heavily catalog-based this year.

Well it's about freaking time! I sold my DVD a couple years ago because this title had long been rumored. I guess I shouldn't be surprised it's coming out soon since HDNet Movies has it on the schedule this week.

and that's one thing I use as a guide of titles to come. Some of the films they show essentially get a release a few months after airing on HDNet.

My vote for the greatest screenplay ever written. I would love to upgrade this one.

Definitely picking this up day one. IMO the best Polanski and one of the best movies of all-time.

Fantastic news. We already know that Universal is releasing a ton of great catalog titles in 2012, so I hope that this and To Catch a Thief being released means that Paramount will finally start opening the floodgates. Hopefully Polanski's Rosemary's Baby will be released too. I never bought the DVD and it's currently OOP.

Nice. But Paramount really needs to step up. Isn't it Paramount's 100 aniv also? As much as you all hate Universal at least they are making a bigger deal about it. Paramount has so many classic and catalogs titles they could releasing. Sunset Blvd. Roman Holiday, Hud, A Place in the Sun, Gunfight at the OK Corral, The vast library of John Wayne titles, Nashville, The Elephant Man, Ordinary People, Heaven Can Wait, Urban Cowboy, Escape From Alcatraz, Serpico, Murder on the Orient Express, The Miracle of Morgan's Creek, The Longest Yard, The Bad News Bears, The Duellists, Dragonslayer, Young Sherlock Holmes, An Officer and a Gentleman, Terms of Endearment, Top Secret!, Stalag 17, Popeye, Marathon Man, Rosemary's Baby, The Odd Couple, Ragtime etc. And how about re-issues of Reds, Zodiac, 3 Days of the Condor.

Well it's about time ! I have been waiting for this one for awhile. Sold my DVD when they hinted at it coming out a year ago. Now do you think it would be too much to hope for The Two Jakes ??

Well on the subject of HDNet Movies, Sunset Blvd is also being shown this week. So if Chinatown airs on that channel and promptly gets a Blu-ray release, maybe Sunset Blvd will as well.

Haven't seen this but hope it doesn't turn out to be another "greatest movie ever" like The Godfther that was disappointing and overrated. Would also put Scareface as overrated.

Yeah, not frightening at all.

Better have all the 2-disc extras and good A/V.

Chances are great to see Sunset Blvd released this year. After all - it's Paramount 100th anniversary.

Like Universal, Paramount is also celebrating a 100th Anniversary this year and is going to be putting out classic films on BD. (like Wings and To Catch a Thief and Love Story)

I'm sure Chinatown and Sunset Blvd are in that pile to be released.

2012 is going to be an epic year for BD catalog titles.

This is huge. Scratch another one off the (ever dwindling) must have list.

This is looking to be a pretty good AFI 100 release year. Either confirmed or all but confirmed...

Chinatown
Lawrence of Arabia
ET
To Kill a Mockingbird
Annie Hall
The Deer Hunter (US)
Jaws
The Apartment

And in the credible rumor/speculation category)

Double Indemnity (based on that leaked Uni schedule that's looking pretty reliable these days)
Titanic (duh)
Raiders of the Lost Ark
City Lights (Criterion can't sit on their Chaplins forever)

I thought 2011 was a really good catalog year. 2012 is looking even better and it's barely started.
