Wow, they look and sound amazing! I was planning on buying the 65''V30 this week but it might be wise to hold off. Hopefully the new V series doesn't have a crazy price tag. Anyone know the new retail prices?

Don't get your hopes up on the VT50 being very cheap. My guess is $2500-3k for the 55 and 3.4-3.7 for the 65. About what the VT30's were when they were rolled out in 2011.

![]() [Show spoiler] This is the year I upgrade! which model? time will tell. (55-65) With just the blank TV pic, I'm impressed. ![]() apps aside, the new specs have me interested thoroughly. Looking forward to the gurus observations in the coming months. Last edited by Blu Titan; 01-12-2012 at 07:09 PM. Reason: soiler tags |

D-Nice has stated that the new panels will be of interest to 50Hz users and that the new driving scheme is what will correct previous issues. Not sure if they've leapt from 600 subfields to 2500 subfields, but that's what I gather from reading the posts from the Panasonic insider at High Def Junkies.

So should should I hold off even with getting a great deal on a 65''V30 or does everyone think the 2012 V50's will be MUCH better? I feel like a junkie needing his fix, but should I wait 4 more months and pay $1000 more for a2012?

This is my situation as well. I am thinking it may be closer to $1500.00 difference if it starts at $4300 again.

So it does look like the top models have gone from 600Hz sub field processing to 2,500Hz sub field processing. Hope that translates into meaningful picture quality advancements.
Sounds like they have a proper 3D mode without using 3:2 as well. But what's with the silver border on the VT series? We don't want to SEE the bezel you numbnuts!?!? What is so hard to understand about the concept of a picture floating in air? |

That's up to you. I have the 65VT30 and it's great. Also the 65 inch won't be out until May the earliest most likely. So it really depends what you want. The physical improvements to the thinner bezel are minimal but very nice, and the 2,500 sub field drive is also interesting. Like I said. The VT30 is very good, I still am impressed every day I turn it on and it's only 2 months old.
