Don can't help pointing out that the sales are still lagging behind the 360 in the US, while failing to say that it's doing better pretty much everywhere else, but I'd say those are good sales from Sony for the Holiday. Quote:

After checking it seems that the PS3 sold about 3.8 million worldwide in 2010, over the same period.
Not sure if nearly flat sales year over year in this economy is a good thing or not, when considering the price drop (but that was back in August 2011). |

Nor does having your first gen fat die with the YLOD. I know I bought a new PS3 during November (not sure on the date), but it was a replacement for one that should still be working. I wonder how many of those PS2 purchases were because of failing first gen PS3s too. I know I've read dozens of posts on PSN in the past few months of YLOD victims saying they were planning to do just that: scrap their fat and buy a slim and a new PS2, since they sold their old PS2 due to the backwards compatibility of the early PS3s.
Of course, from the nightmare stories I've heard, it seems even more xbox sales may be replacement motivated. Last edited by MoulinBlu; 01-10-2012 at 11:59 PM. |
