Right now I have a 12" JBL sub which sounds pretty good to my ears.I have Klipsch rf-62 ll speakers and a rc-62 ll along with it.I just took a advantage of the sale at Newegg on the Klpisch rw-12d sub.Couldnt pass it up for $299 delivered.I know that eveyone here would say that two subs are better than one.I read the guide to bass management and it stated you dont have to have two identical subs.I guess im wondering if it's a big headache trying to get two different subs to sound good together. Is it worth buying an extra cable to try out,or is it just a big headache?Do I just try and match the settings on the back of the subs to each other, then just run the calibration on my Marantz reciever?Any advice or tips would be a great help.

For the price of a cable it probably would be worth trying out.I would have picked up two Klipsch's but the wife would kill me.It will be interesting to see how it turns out.I just keep looking for ways to upgrade if I can. Thanks for the reply.

Oh and another good one is that having 2 evens out the bass more so that no one is hit with so much bass that it makes it uncomfortably loud for some people. I am sure your wife would appreciate that because she would not want to go deaf ![]() |

According to my wife everything sounds just fine as it is.Im throwing money away by adding or changing anything. She will never get it.Im not quite sure how she's going to handle the next upgrade.A pair of rf-7 ll and a rc-64 is on the horizon. She just needs to accept the inevitable and enjoy the sweet sound.

She may get into it soon enough. When my wife(girlfriend then) seem really interested in the Home Theater thing, I was a little surprised. At first I was thinking she was only interested or pretending to be interested so that she would know how much I am spending.
I was wrong, she really likes what I am doing. It’s gotten hard to take her out to the movies, because she rather stay home and watch ours. To get my wife to go to the theater I have to mention IMAX, and then she will say ok. So, basically, what I’m saying is to make sure she enjoy the movies/audio too. For the opening post, I don’t believe it will be that hard to match the two subs you are asking about, since they are both 12’s. I believe your biggest problem might just be ‘Gain matching’ |

My wife likes Dave Matthews. I bought "Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds: Live at Radio City". She loves it, of course it helps that it is one of the best recorded concert blus. This year I bought her Eddie Vedder "Water on the Road". She appreciates the sound.

You should have absolutely no problems matching those subs. I just recently built a sealed sub and have it paired with my Acoustic Audio ported sub. Couldn't be any different then that, the only thing they have in common is both being 8 inchers. But despite that fact, after gain matching them using an SPL meter following Big Daddy's post on the subject, then calibrating them through my receiver, they sound absolutely amazing. For the first time ever my dad actually came in my room and told me to turn it down because i was shaking the house
