Default What's Your Recommendation?

Hey guys, so I'm not exactly sure how it happened, but I've become obsessed with collecting slipcovers! I always felt indifferent towards them unless they were lenticular, I never really cared for them. But lately it's all I think about. It's almost like I'd rather spend my money on slips for the movies I already own, than to actually buy new Blu-ray's. Maybe it's just the fact that I don't like the thought of there being a slip out there my movie should have. Most of the time, it's become a dealbreaker to me if I find that a slipcover isn't included when purchasing films. I'm sure some of you can relate.

Now with that being said, I can't stand those damn stickers all over the front of slipcovers. Most of the time I'm able to gently remove them by hand leaving no visible residue. But some of them are impossible to remove without either ruining the cover or leaving behind that ugly residue. I'm sure this has been discussed before, and I apologize if this isn't the right place to ask. But I need a solution!

Now I've heard everything from Goo-Gone to Rubbing alcohol, but I'm not too keen on experimenting with all these chemicals just to put my slips in risk of complete damage. So my question is this, what is the sure fire method in removing the leftover residue? Any input would be appreciated.

Goo Gone and lighter fluid work very well at removing stickers and the residue from slipcovers. Both should work just fine unless it's a velvety type slipcover like Remember Me. On those Goo Gone should be avoided and only use lighter fluid.

I used Goo Gone today on my HB2 slip to remove some residue. It works like a charm.

Thanks a lot for the responses! Now this may seem like a dumb question, but was the process easy? Just apply a dab of Goo Gone and wipe away with a napkin? Do you guys let it sit for a minute?

I usually let it sit for a minute or two on the sticker then peel it away.
