Hop - Was this a 3D release?
I did not see this when it was in theaters but I thought I had seen previews that said was going to be in 3D but am not able to find anything to confirm this yet. And only a 2D release has been announced so if anyone saw it in 3D please let me know. |

Just did a google search and this video on YouTube says "Hop 3D"...
but I think that just the trailer is in 3D. When you search "Hop movie poster" not a single poster says 3D on it anywhere??? This "official trailer" being in 3D may be why many of us thought the movie was??? |

Yah, this is what I was coming across as well, I rember seeing it advertised in 3D but the only thing online I came across was that youtube video but when you wach the video it does not say anything about 3D in it. From everything else I am just seeing it as a 2D release. So I guess I won't hold out for a 3D release of it!

Hop was NOT released in 3D. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/marsha..._b_842375.html
Quote "This may be the year that a movie NOT being in 3D makes it a novelty. Well, perhaps that's an exaggeration. Nonetheless, its two-dimensional presentation certainly earns a movie extra points in my book. Which, in the case of Hop, is about the best I can say about it." IT WAS NOT A 3D RELEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
![]() http://www.first4movies.com/reviews/articles/hop " It's interesting that with majority of family films now coming out in 3D, they decided not to make Hop in 3D. While the film works perfectly well without it, it could have made it slightly more attractive to its target audience." Last edited by BigNickUK; 01-13-2012 at 06:18 PM. |

I think the confusion may be coming from the fact that some of the articles for it were calling it 3D animated. That's all I could find that referenced 3d but you are right as I can't find anything that says it ever was actually in 3d. I could have sworn it had a 3d trailer and was advertised as such. I remember I didn't go see it cause I was looking at showtimes a few weeks after release and couldn't find any 3d showings. That must be why lol. Kinda disappointed cause I was looking forward to this thinking it would have a 3d blu ray release. Oh and I definitely remember seeing this on the 3d release calendar on here so obviously the person who put it up was just as confused as the rest of us.

Yes, it was a 3d release. I saw it with my son. Some very cool scenes in 3D. I won't buy the 2d version as I am waiting for the 3D Blu Ray to come out if it hasn't already.
