Talking The Super Bowl Thread

I searched the forums and have not found an official Super Bowl XLII thread.

HERE we can discuss the teams, vote in the poll, and discuss the game before, during, and after as well as the new commercials!

My prediction for the final score.

Pats 1,000,000 Giants -34,000.

Also yes, Wes Welker is the man.

Seriously......

I feel that the teams are pretty evenly matched. It will be close. Eli and the offense need to stay mistake free and capitalize on every possession. Then the D has to nail Brady and the gang and keep them out of the red zone.

If the Giants lose, hey they made it this far and much farther than anyone had put them. If they win, a mind blowing upset.

If the Patriots win, it solidifies their place in history as a great dynasty that is far from being over. If they lose, it will be an absolute disappointment.

I was serious too. lol.

I honestly feel like this game isn't going to be close. The Pats played one of their worst games of the regular season against the Giants and I'm sure were a little blindsided by the fact that the Giants came all out considering they had nothing to gain.

The game was in Giants Stadium and in crappy weather, and they still put up 38 points. (Yeah 17, OK, Plax lol.) The game will be played on a field turf in optimal weather conditions which is what the weather was like at the beginning of the season where the Pats were putting up 45+ points on all their opponents.

Giving 2 weeks for Belichick to figure you out is huge. I like Coughlin as a coach, but Belichick is in a class of his own with current day coaches.

Also the spread started at around 14 points. Last I checked it was down to 11 1/2. And all I see are people on TV saying how this could be a close game or flat out picking the Giants. It's just the even though the Pats have never blown any one out it a Super Bowl when they win, in my opinion, I think this is the weakest team that they have faced. (Bears, Packers, Rams, Panthers, Eagles.)

At least when the 01 Patriots upset the Rams there was no one outside of New England who picked the Pats.

I'm going to tell you something, I'm not even going to watch the super bowl. Not only because I have to work (pizza buisness), it's going to be a total slaughter house. Not even going to be fun to watch. Maybe if the Pack had made it...

The weather in Arizona has been pretty crappy the last couple of days. High of 65 low of 45 with possible rain. But the retractable roof is a plus.

The spread is all about the numbers game the casinos in Vegas run. If you were to go by that scientific method of calculating the winner, you would be crazy. I hope it ends up being a great game. Win or Lose it is a day to spend drinking and eating like crazy with your family and friends.

Personally I think that aspect is the best part of the day. I am making it into a weekend. I have a few buddies coming up and staying with me Saturday thru Monday and we are networking on the 2 Hdtvs I have so we can play COD4 in seperate rooms.

Then I got an assload of beer 5 cases of Coors Light, 3 12's of Magic Hat, and a couple 12s of Sams. Fully Stocked and ready to party.

First of all, I'm a huge Packers fan and it took a while to get over the loss, but you can't honestly say that the team the team in the Super Bowl beat would have had a better chance against probably the greatest team in NFL history. The Pack-Giant game at Lambeau was a lot closer than it should have been. Green Bay simply couldn't move the ball on NY's D and no matter what anybody says about how good Al Harris is, he, therefore every DB on the Packers D, could not stop Plaxico Burress. The Giants deserve to be there and they are because of what they've done the team with the best chance of beating the Pats no matter how much I hate Strahan and Pierce.

Can I get some coupons? Seriously... pizza is too damn expensive. It's sad that I can get 60 big, juicy, meaty buffalo wings with bleu cheese and celery from my local pub for less than 2 pizzas from any of the major chains. There's a local Russian-owned pizza joint by my home that has the hottest delivery girls I've ever seen--but I think they're all import brides.

That said, I'm all for the Pats winning. But I think the Giants will give them a run for their money.

They said that after the game you can go to www.myspace.com/superbowlads and watch all the ads. They did specify that it would be after the game, though.
