ruh roh. The hating starts

I will go not because I want TPM in theatres (i would always be buying the 3Dblu though!) but because I want the REST to definitely be greenlit and succeed theatrically. So we definitely get all 6 on 3Dblu.

If the first one does big $$ I may not even go to the next ones theatrically.

Perhaps it's my age, but I find the Prequel trilogy to be near-perfect. Whereas the Original trilogy looks like crap.

Please don't stone me for blasphemy.

Since I didn't see any of the films in Theaters, this will be the first time Lucas gets my money.

Saw the actual 3D trailer on the 3DS. Looked decent for the short trailer runtime.

I agree with you in that I would like to get another crack at seeing the original trilogy in theaters again, even if only in 3D (which I despise).

But...I don't want to see them bad enough fork over money to endure a 3D viewing of TPM or ATOC (Maybe ROTS, but the first two..No!!).

I went to a taping of Stephen Colbert's show last week, and during the pre-show Q&A someone asked him if he was going to see the Star Wars prequels in 3D. He very quickly said "No!" and explained that it would be even worse in 3D because "the sucking will come right at you!"

He also said the only thing worse than the prequels in 3D is the Holiday Special in 3D.

That being said, I'm totally seeing it. It's Star Wars in 3D, how can I skip that??

I'm conflicted...
- I don't want to see Phantom Menace again in the theaters,
- But if I don't, we won't get Eps. 3 & 4.
- I only want it as a replacement for buying the Prequel Trilogy in B3D instead of 2-D, because even a little 3-D on disk is better than all 2-D.
- But to get the rest of the trilogy on B3D, I have to see this one.
- But I don't really want to see this one, because the 3-D looks non-existent, even though getting it into that nonexistent-3D form is why I feel I have to go in the first place.

At least with the crappy Beauty & the Beast conversion, we could ignore it since it was ALREADY on disk. And who's to care if Titanic 3-D lives or dies, it's not like Cameron's going to quit making new ones...
But Star Wars on B3D if I go to see the theater version....What to do, what to do? Do I bite the bullet and take one for the team?

NO! In the grand scheme of things what is 1 ticket going to do? Don't support media you don't want to support.

Actually when I saw the trailer in glorious 2d last year, I got a massive pang of comfortable nostalgia. I actually can't wait to see this..The trailer really did bring a smile to my face. I'll go see it.

[Show spoiler]TPM was the best sounding of the prequels imho, and I heard that in a Cinema equipped with ultra stereo (80's sound). Saw AoTC at Reading cinemas in Brisbane with stadium seating and DTS equipment. better surround effects but the low end was comparable if a bit thinner. I liked the sound of Ep III especially for the Star Destroyers, but I didn't think this was a standout. (heard with freshly installed Dolby Digital 5.1 sound)

I am sure he will but he won't be getting mine this time around. No one enjoy Star Wars as much as I do but I have no need to see them in 3D. I am glad for those who will be enjoying these in theaters again but I won't be one of them
