Default Time And Eternity - The Worlds First HD Animation RPG

Quote:
Black Rock Shooter developer Imageepoch and publisher Namco Bandai are teaming up to create Time and Eternity. The story begins when a Knight King (the man in blue) and a magic-casting princess get married. Their union creates Kamuza Kingdom, but shadows of unrest are bubbling during their wedding.

The eighteen year old hero hasn’t even kissed the princess, Toki, yet and they’re about to tie the knot. Toki who has a blue dragon with her is 16 years old, she’s uneasy because a fortune teller prophesized her wedding would be attacked by someone. How they met and why they decided to get married are details Imageepoch are keeping under wraps for now.

Time and Eternity uses hand-drawn animation for battle scenes, even when you’re walking on the field. Cutscenes are animated too with artwork from Satelight, the studio behind the new Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2: Innocent Sin opening movie.

You can view screenshots of the game here

EDIT: Official website for the game here

Video footage of the game will be released sometime next week.

Interesting indeed...

The quality of the GFX looks reminiscent of Ni no Kuni it seems (and might end up even better on a technical level I guess).

Are we about to witness the revival of the Japanese RPG in the modern Era (besides the technically sumptuous but also deeply flawed FF XIII)?

It is more than time (and hopefully the game mechanics have also evolved - begone random encounters up the wazoo and turn-based combat !)

I happen to like random encounters and turn based combat. FF 7 & 10 are my 2 favorite RPGs of all time.

As do I. I guess that's the difference in old school RPG guys and new school RPG guys. I can't stand hack-and-slash RPG games. I want mine like FF7. It was perfect. Great story, great characters, great combat system, great use of magic vs attacks... Nothing beats the classics.

I've always said if I could ever design a game it'd be in the vein of a classic turn-based (random encounter) RPG.

======

As for the title at hand. I hope it get some sort of English release.

I'm very interested in this game especially since it's from Imageepoch (developers of Luminous Arc, Fate/Extra, Criminal Girls, and Black Rock Shooter: The Game).

Wow, that engine looks NUTS! They should take out the drawn cutscenes and replace them with in-engine scenes. Geezo!

Well we now know who the mysterious English Publisher is for Time and Eternity

Quote:
At NIS America's press event, the publisher confirmed that Time and Eternity will be released in North America for PlayStation 3 in summer 2013.

Imageepoch developed Time and Eternity, which they call the world's first HD animation RPG. In Time and Eternity you travel through time to save your fiance. Players switch between Princess Toki and her alter ego Towa during the game's real time battle system. In addition to using knives, guns, and spells Toki/Towa can also bend time.

NIS America will also localize and release the downloadable episodes for the game. Some of those are pretty steamy.

Time and Eternity will be released as a PlayStation 3 retail and digital game for $49.99.

I hope this is good. I had it pre-ordered on Amazon and I didn't even know it until I received my "your order has shipped" emails today.

Looks like I preordered this with D4 and The Witch and the Hundred Knights. Dang NIS... I must have been wanting some RPGS badly that day.
