Default Virtua Fighter 5

so who has it, wants it, or going to receive it soon?

also want to know if you already have it, how you like it?

I just played the arcade mode and won/lost in 41 mins.. won total but lost the bonus round, kinda short if you ask me but the final guy was hard..

Graphics look descent for a 720p game, not a lot of development vs what ive seen in fight night: round 3

hopefully F1 will be a good game, but another racing game that I will have to convince the wife to let me have, heh.

Default I have a must own

If you like fighting games this is a must have. I look great, plays faster than the older VFs and has more moves than you can shake a stick at. Note I also have the Hori Fight Stick for the PS3, this makes it easier to play IMHO.

The hori fighting stick is a must have for Hardcore fighting game fans. Sucks it's not wireless and only works for ps3 games. It looks good but I will give it a rent first since I like VF5 gameplay the least between Tekken/Soulcalibur/Streetfighter/VF

Average reviews for this game are 9/10

I just bought mine today but haven't tried it out yet. I've always loved all the VF games...

Have it. A lot of fun so far! Just getting used to the controls after a lot of Tekken.

I turned off 720p on the PS3 and the Bravia says it's running at 1080p...I guess upscaled.

Some pics:

Default I feel ripped off

My brother in law got his hands on the Japanese version and I played it over the weekend. It looked gorgeous in 1080p. I just picked up my U.S. version and I noticed it seemed a bit more aliased. I check my TV and it was saying 720p. Confused, I picked up and checked the back of the box and it says it's 720p only. WTF?!?

edit: I just tried turning off 720p on the PS3 like the previous poster mentioned. Sure enough, it's running in 1080p now.

Wow, it appears to be a real killer title for the PS3.

With ALL gaming sites giving positive reviews for it, it looks like this game is indeed worth it.

Has anyone else had the problem where parts of the image, mainly the top and the bottom like where it says "Press Start Button," are getting cut off? I'm using it on the HL-S6187W Samsung DLP. Are there any settings I can change so this does not occur?

Other than that the game looks great as you can see from MyXBR3isMygf's screens. It will take a little bit to get used to it after playing Tekken for a long long time.

You know, i noticed that too on the select screen. I have the 50" version of your tv, HL-S5087W. Its hard to tell during gameplay though.
So i just bought this game yesterday and haven't played virtua fighter since the first one on the sega saturn (Still have it ). Pretty much i got wasted by the computer so I tried dojo mode with commands and some of those commands are hard with the ps3 controller. I think the graphics are very nice, especially shun di's level. So far I enjoy the game but I really suck for now. I just can't remember all the moves !!

Maybe that's due to TV overscan?

The box is wrong. It has higher res than 720p. The screen shots are awesome. I might be renting this.

I believe this game outputs 720p native, if you have 1080p it just upscales because from what I heard, it's identical to 720p.

I got it and played for about an hour last night. Despite being used to Tekken, MKDA, and SFII I was still able to walk all over the AI in the first couple of arcades I visited. The game is fun and very pretty, the sound is not impressive at all. I'm still getting used to the fighting system and speed of the game and all.

My TV does not do 720p and the TV reads this game at 1080i. I also have parts of the top cropped off at times, and a bit of the right I notice is off screen too when looking at the opponents won/loss the loss number is partially off screen.

I have never played the game before, and have a hard time getting down any of the special moves. And for this game it sure would be nice if the control had down left, down right, up right and up left. The instructions say to do both right and down to do down right, but basically I can't seem to make any moves using any angles. Of course I have issues with the easy moves too once in the heat of battle

I was a diehard street fighter player, they have not made a new version for years now. I had the same issue my advise go to the DO-JO, they even have a setting that allows you to see what you are inputing into the game. This help alot.

PS make sure your tv's wide mode is set to full. I had a customer with crop issues and someone had put the tv on zoom mode.

Graphics are very nice in the game, but it just take a little getting used to the controls because each fighting game uses it own. I would think it would be might easier with a joystick controller like an arcade game.

I am slightly addicted to playing the game. But my character Eileen and I can't seem to beat anyone in the Dan Level. And if we keep playing the easy and intermediate arcades we can't win anything.

I guess I will have to figure out how to play the game better or come up with a better strategy against the Dan level characters.
