Default How Many Movies Have You Seen?

I found this article and was curious to see what others thought:

http://htmlgiant.com/random/how-many...have-you-seen/

As for myself, I started from when I first became seriously interested in cinema (1988). Assuming I've seen an average of 2-3 unique feature movies a week since then (not including repeat and partial viewings), it works out to around 2,500-3,000 movies.

Yeah, I have to be around the same. I'm 40 and I feel like there is rarely a mainstream movie that comes up in converstation that I haven't seen. The problem is though, there are tons of movies in limited or no release each year that almost noone sees--many of which are very good. When you factor in all of those, I bet the % of movies seen for videofiles on sites like these dramatically decreases.

My flickchart says I've seen 1,700. But there were quite a few movies that I've seen but don't remember anything about them, so i don't rank those. Taking those into account and the movies that still aren't on there, I'm probably around 1,900-2,000.

I've been watching 2-3 films a day for the majority of my 26 years on earth. That works out to about 9,490 days, or between 18,980-28,470 films. Now that's a fairly vague estimate, and certainly rounding up. So let's knock off the three years due to repetition (I mostly watched Ghostbusters, Batman and Ninja Turtles on a loop for the first several years). 16,790 if we keep it at 2 a day (there have been many days I've watched a dozen movies straight, but we'll keep it sane). And just for further argumentative sake, I'll knock off an entire third of that number for margin of error. That comes out to 11,193. Regardless of what ever the true number is, you can bet its a lot.

EDIT: I also like how he claimed that his parents just sat him in front of the TV and made him watch Ghostbusters, Batman, and Ninja Turtles over and over for the first few years of his life like some kind of Clockwork Orange expirement.

It's cool to see a couple of people using Flickchart to keep up with their movies-watched like myself

According to Flickchart I have currently seen 740 movies.

That doesn't include any movies I have watched and don't remember much about.

Films that I have seen in my life probably total close to 1500. Films I have watched and reviewed (Analyzed and wrote reviews) is a few short of 1,000. Still not bad considering I just got seriously sucked into film and have been reviewing films less then two years now. Anyone that's interested can check out my recently (11/2011) created Film Blog that is linked in my signature below. I welcome opinions, comments and discussion or your personal feelings on any and all films I have reviewed!

It's an amazing time waster.
It actually has become a habit to go straight to Flickchart after I watch a movie so I can update my list and my movies-watched number.

My flickchart is at 1680 but there's loads of stuff not accounted for there. I would guess somewhere around 2000 total.

I do that with iCheckMovies. I wasted a lot more time on Flickchart before I figured out that you could re-rank each movie.

I couldn't even make an educated guess at to how many I've seen over my lifetime but starting last year I decided to keep track. I watched 202 last year, and am at 17 so far this year.
