No, it isn't. This is a miniseries written by Julian Fellowes (Downton Abbey, Gosford Park, etc). There are a ton of previews for it on YouTube if you care to look. I'm really looking forward to seeing it.

I watched the first episode but just couldn't get into it. Don't know what it was but it just didn't grab me.

It could be because it's a TV series not a film, but I'm having a hard time following the character story lines.

The hotilities between the 2nd and 1st class couples (forgot their name),

I was enjoying the first episode until I realised that each were going to roll back to the beginning. Would have preferred the 4 parts to have had a continuous story.

I can't remember

You got more of a sense in the second episode of what was going on between those couples, but it's still not been spelled out. The promos keep describing the fourth episode as the "explosive climax", so I gather all the dirty laundry gets spilled out of the basket then, on all the plotlines.

It's a risky approach, assuming that we'll actually want to know and be willing to wait and be toyed with in the meantime. For my own tastes, that gamble hasn't paid off - what we've had so far has been pretty flat and hardly compelling drama, so it hasn't generated an impulse (for me, anyway). I'll watch it till the end, but only because I keep giving shows the benefit of the doubt. Won't be buying it, though.

I'll never buy into this 3D thing, the 2D version will more than suffice for me, might even pick up 'Raise the Titanic' if ever a day should come
