Macbook Pro's are HD but not exactly 1080p.
There are two displays on macbook pro. 15" 1440 x 900 resolution 17" 1680 x 1050 pixels 1080P is 1920x1080 To put everything in comparison DVD = 640x480 = 307200 pixels (15% of 1080p) 720p = 1280x720 = 921600pixels (44% of 1080p) 15" Macbook = 1440x900 = 1296000 pixels (63% of 1080p) 17" Macbook = 1680x1050 = 1764000 pixels (85% of 1080p) 1080p = 1920x1080 = 2073600 pixels. So. Yes Macbook is HD. No it is not 1080p. It is a substantial boost over DVD (about 4x to 5x as many pixels). |
