USA Question about HMV Internation Shipping and Steelbooks

Hey forum peeps

I have dealt with HMV before, making single steelbook purchases at a time and just getting lucky with them getting to me in one piece, their shipping boxes are crap.

My question is, I just placed an order with multiple steelbooks in it and was wondering if they do different shipping boxes to accommidate more than 1 steelbook or will I get multiple packages?

Thanks ahead of time for your past experiences.

I have purchased mutiple steelbooks at the time & they always send them separately, so yeah you will receive them separately!

Unfortunately you have to pay shipping of Ł4.50 per item, which makes it expensive if you are importing multiple SteelBooks.

Yeah I did notice that, but it really didnt bother me. I was just hoping that since I was paying the shipping on each on, that they could atleast package the steels a little better.

I do not understand why they send them separately when ordering multiples. I have had 2 out of 5 or 6 damaged from them.

they´re shipping from the UK jersey islands.. technically Euroland but NOT part of the Euro customs union.. meaning everyone ordering from Euroland would have to pay around 20-30% customs fees/tax (+handling charges) for every order of more than 20-25 Euro (actual fees/amounts vary depending on local customs but they´re all more or less like that)
single orders of less than that are free of any charges....
that´s the reason all the jersey ratailers (play, thehut, zavvi, hmv etc etc) are shipping items seperately

oh I had no idea.

Thanks for that bit of info. I guess it makes sense when you look at it like that. Still wished that they would package with a bit more care. A sheet of bubble wrap can go a loooooooong way.

+1
I am waiting for the THIRD replacement copy for a SteelBook ordered last September.. it not only takes AGES because they always want all the damaged stuff back.. they´ll always wait for it to arrive before mailing out a new one... which always takes like 4-6 weeks... fingers crossed the 4th one will arrive in mint condition..
customer service has stated: "We specified the damage taken, asked our team at the warehouse to check it, and use extra packaging."

here´s hopin´

I received seven steelbooks in the last week from them. Ordered all of them a day before Drive was released. Each individual one in their own card board box. No damage to any of them. What a bloody miracle.

Impressed with the fast shipping tho.

Well I am hoping to get both of mine by the end of the week. Here's hoping they come in 1 piece.
