Default Need new 7.1 receiver. $600 budget. What would you get?

I could go a little over $600 if necessary, but would prefer not to. I need a 7.1 receiver that is 3D ready (don't have a 3D TV yet). I want functionality, excellent sound and durability.

Won't consider Onkyo after my last one crapped out in 24 months.

I've started with four models I'm looking at, but I'm eager to hear other opinions too.

Thanks!

How about

http://usa.denon.com/US/Product/Page...2112CI(DenonNA)

http://usa.denon.com/US/Product/Page...VR1912(DenonNA)

http://www.dakmart.com/advanced_sear...9femsahrkte992 This is refurbished to new and comes with one year warranty. I bought a 3808 from them and it has worked flawlessly.

You could go with the Pioneer 1121-k from amazon. Its the equal to the Elite VSX-52, lots of features and great sound. Also great reviews from other members...its about 499.

Neither. The Onkyo TX-NR709 is with in your budget and better than all those receivers. My 707 died in 24 months too. Onkyo repaired it 40 days past it's warranty and I put it in the bedroom, and a 709 in the living room. Honestly Onkyo can't be beaten in sound quality by either of those receivers unless you raise your budget a little.

Marantz and Denon are great also. Accessories4less.com will have some for your price budget.

Thanks, guys. I will definitely be looking at Denon as well, and Marantz too. In terms of pricing, I've been looking at Amazon because of my prime membership, but I'll check out accessories4less as well to see how the bottom line compares.

It's too bad you will not consider Onkyo. I have had nothing but good experience with mine. I have had the Onkyo 806 for a while and just recently picked up the Onkyo 809 for $650 this past November. The 809 is awesome and is a 7.2 network AVR. Way too many functions to list.

Dell 2112. Call Electronics Express and they'll sell you a brand new one for $450. Seriously. Do not buy a refurbished model from accessories for less when you can buy brand new.

I bought the Denon AVR-891 a year ago through Amazon; it is a 105 watt 7.1 3D ready received, and have loved it ever since. I also have prime so two day shipping was free. I haven't checked but there probably is an upgrade by now. Prices should be the same or lower.

Be carfeul when buying from amazon that your warranty is covered. Amazon is an authorized dealer for mostly everyone but Pioneer Elite i believe?

I know for a fact that Amazon is an authorized dealer for both Denon and Klipsh, which is the speakers I went with. I double checked before purchasing. NewEgg is authorized as well, I believe--you may also find some good deals there.

I currently have the 7.2 Yamaha RX-V667 receiver.

It's a really great receiver, packing a nice array of features and plenty of power to get the job done.

If I were to upgrade I would get the RX-V671 in a New York minute!

Onkyo TX-NR709 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver for under $600 at Amazon and it offers a lot of bang for your buck!

+1! This would be my recommendation as well.

I am in the exact same boat as well. I have read so many horror stories about ONKYOs glitches that I am afraid to purchase any line from them and this pisses me off because of what they offer for the price. I dont really want to spend more than $650.00. There is only 1 electronics store within reach of me which is a Best Buy without a Magnolia center so auditioning one before purchasing really does not appeal to me. I am within 150 miles of a city that has everything but really dont want to travel just to listen and play with some of these receivers. So having said all of that I am really counting on the experts here on this website to steer me into a product that will make me happy and perform without too many glitches. Denons and Pioneers reviews sound promising in this price range and I do not know anything about Yamahas line which seems to have alot of fans. I have been researching this for almost 8 months and still have not pulled the trigger on anything. Whatever I get will be paired with POLKS MONITOR 60 series for fronts, and 50 series for rears, CS2 center and a Polk PSW 10" sub. HELP me make up my mind. I am not dead set against ONKYO but it would really take some convincing me to go that way.

I'm in the market for another receiver for the bedroom. I currently have a Yamaha RX-V765 in my home theater. I love it and have never had a single problem. It's discontinued otherwise I'd just buy a second one. I'm torn between buying a mid-range receiver or upgrading my home theater receiver. Either way I'd like to stay in the $400-$600 range. I'd prefer a 7.1 unit than a 5.1, but it's not super important for the bedroom. I'll be running 5.1.

I too have heard horror stories about Onkyo's. I'm open to Denon, Pioneer, Yamaha, etc... I don't need all the networking features. I just want a quality receiver that sounds great and will last. I'd rather the extra money go into power for the channels.

I normally buy my components on Newegg, but their selection is really limited right now. Maybe it's because new units are coming out soon.

Help me decide! You guys have never led me wrong in the past.

1. If all I want is a receiver to watch blu's on in my bedroom and drive my speakers what should I get? Will a $300 dollar unit suffice?
2. If not what $600 mid-range receiver do you suggest?

Thank you in advance!
