This 1st film was mostly filmed in the town I live in, the fight scene in our Courthouse Sq, (we even go into that same icecream/burger rest.!) and the disturbing scene at the Lake and several others.

I'm glad Shout Factory is putting this out, if only because of the number of people we have asking for these movies at the store I work at...

Awesome news! I've been trying to get all three on DVD for a while without paying a small fortune for them. Now, I can get them in glorious 1080p!

Aw Hell No!!!

I'm excited I'll definitely be picking this up on release day. Before he passed away, long before, my dad introduced me to these films and I have always loved this trilogy much in the same way I love the original unedited, unaltered, un-upgraded Star Trek The Original Series, Smokey and the Bandit and M*A*S*H. I simply cannot believe this is coming out in a few months.

I hope the price is set just right. Even at $20, this set is a defintie must-have. Joe Don baker was awesome and unbridled in these films. Forget Dwane "The Rock" Johnson. That horrible remake isn't even close to the original film trilogy that started it all.

I can't wait for these films to be released. Excellent news indeed.

some featurettes, and Joe Don Baker/Bo Svenson commentaries would be the bomb, + add "Mitchell" as a bonus film!

the first film had such a classic B cast:

Joe Don Baker
Felton Perry
Noah Berry Jr.
Leif Garrett
Kenneth Tobey
Red West
Logan Ramsey
Elizabeth Hartman
Pepper Martin
Sydney Clute

also dont forget the microphones that peeped up now and then!

Thumbs up Walk Tall!!!

I hope that the Blu-ray is as good as The Paramount DVD from 2007!!! That DVD has Excellent PQ!!! Hope that they use that as the source for the original Walking Tall. If not, then the PQ won't be top notch. If they used the Rhino one then that will really SUCK. The Rhino 1 was Full Frame 3/4 and The Paramount was Widescreen. Paramount really cleaned the original Walking Tall up really really good!! The 2007 WT DVD was and still is AWESOME!!!

I will be getting this for sure. I liked the original Walking Tall, much better than the remake starring Dwayne Johnson (The Rock). And the direct to video sequels with Kevin Sorbo were horrible.

some new featurettes, and Joe Don Baker/Bo Svenson commentaries would be awesome (both actors are alive and well)

seeing this is a two disc set, I'm hoping the original is on it's own disc, and the sequels are on the other one.

Nice review of Walking Tall, but he really missed the mark on the PQ of Fernguly as the PQ was, sadly, lacking.

Heh, for that price I might blind buy. I was wary when I saw 70's movies and the name Joe Don Baker (makes me think of Mitchell and Final Justice from MST3K where he and the movies get skewered mercilessly). But the reviews sound decent, under $20 and i"ll bite.

Anyone have any problems playing this set? I went to watch the first movie this past week end in my Sony player and it would not load and just locked up. Same thing happened with the second disc. Weird thing is they play fine on my PS3.
