I dont know what I was smokin last night but when Gerald Butler jumps under the tree at the beginning of Timeline and that girl is under there I almost freakin jumped through the wall. The funny thing is that I have seen that movie once already. It had just been awhile and I forgot she was under there. But for a movie that is actually suppose to be scary, I did watch Stir of Echoes on Blu the other night and that definetly has its jumpy parts. I;m easily startled though.

Ju On is a hell of a lot better than the Grudge. It's a lot more creepy.

I'm more scared by the psychological ones vs. things jumping out at you ones. That said, The Shining (Kubrick version) and Silence of the Lambs top my list.

You know we've got that "Most Stupid line from Star Wars episode I-III". We ought to have one for "Showgirls" and put the entire script of the movie in the first post.

Haha, I was just going to say that. That was the only movie that has truly scared me. Im not really sure why it did either. I hate these new movies that try to scare you by cutting the music and the queing a loud slam of some sort.... I can't remember the last movie to scare me other than event horizon.

ya the original shining was pretty scary for me. i also saw alien at the theater as a kid with my dad and it scared the crap out of me. also this more called sasquatch (about bigfoot) at the theater that made not sleep for quite a few days.

stir of echoes was good as well. the ring was very creepy as well. there are alot of them out there that scare you, but the creepy ones are the ones that get to me oh no save me

there's been quite a few movies that have made me jump such as the grudge, the ring, the cell, resident evils, etc (that's what i get for allowing myself to get too enveloped into movies), but event horizon takes the cake for movie that came closest to making me shit my pants.
when i did see it in theatres years ago, by the time it ended and lights came back on i discovered i was one of the few who sat through the entire thing. and it smelled of vomit.
but i have to admit when i saw disney's "the black hole" (1979) as a kid it was the only movie to ever give me nightmares.

I love horror movies and The Exorcist is my favorite. It's the only movie that really disturbed/scared me throughout the whole movie. It didn't make me jump or whatever but it truly scared me. I'll often leave a movie playing while I'm trying to go to sleep but I'd never leave that one playing (even though I've seen it 10 to 15 times by now).

I've seen so many horror movies that most of the recent ones only have a scene or two that get to me. I guess I've been desensitized to a lot of the tactics horror movie use but occasionally a newer movie will get to me.

The Grudge has a couple of scenes that make me jump and overall, I'd say it's one of the few newer movies that gets to me throughout the movie. Just the sound in that one creeps me out.

The Descent has a couple of scenes that still make me jump even though I know the scene is coming.

Event Horizon has one scene that really got me, especially the few first times I saw it.

Going back several years, the first Friday the 13th really got me at the end.

I liked it and bought it but I'm fairly easy to please. It has some good scenes and I love the sound effect they use in that movie. Frequently, it's the sound in a movie that gets to me more than the picture.

The scariest movie for me that I can think of is an older one (1980) called the Changeling (I heard they might be remaking it too). It could be because I was a kid when I saw it, but no movie has ever freaked me out like that one! (and I used to love the Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th movies).
http://imdb.com/title/tt0080516/

I remember liking Event Horizon, but I don't really remember it anymore (gonna have to rent it again).

I do find it hard to watch the more recent torture-style movies like "House of 1000 corpses" and "Hostel" - but that's more of a combination of fear and gross factor.

Was Pulse scary? Well like i said, i am easily scared, so yes i was scared. But itīs "Buh!" ghost appearing out of nowhere scares, after quite a lot of "teens/college guys go places they should not and you just know what will happen" build ups. Pretty standard i guess.

Only two movies I ever saw gave me nightmares.

Believe it or not, the first was The Wizard of Oz, which I would love to see on Blu.

The other was a really old one, B&W, I think, on television when I was probably 5 or 6 years old. I actually remember it was called Die Monster Die. There was some creature that left glowing footprints on the floor as it passed, and at the end, the old house was burning. I don't recall anything else about it.

Actually, I just found it on DVD at Netflix and put it in my queue. Im apparently not the only kid who had nightmares. Should be fun, and in color, too.

It actually has a long wait time.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose, that one gave me the chills, I couldn't get the images from that one out of my head for days.
