Mmm....Seems a good year for anime. I've seen Pokemon 4Ever, and the previous movies.

I wonder if this release will be superior to the four-pack by Echo Bridge (in terms of the picture/audio and extras)? I was planning on purchasing that release but Studio Canal typically releases quality Blu-ray's so there's a possibility this will be a better release, despite having fewer films.

I think I would have preferred if they released Indigo League in Blu-Ray all the episodes for say Ł35, atm it's gunna cost me like Ł60 to get them on DVD

Would love it if they would release the first movie, i don't think it even had a widescreen release on DVD 11 years ago. Wouldn't mind Pokemon 2000 aswell

The Indigo League would be nice, but it hasn't even been released on DVD here yet

I wonder if this will be the same exact disc Studio Canal is using for their German release.

Question

This doesn't make any sense. Why release the 4th and 5th Pokemon movies on Blu-ray but not the first three?

Because WB still has rights to the first 3 maybe?

What were the previous DVD releases from Studio Canal like? I expect the Blu-Ray release will be similar.

I just hope the movies are in widescreen, and the Pikachu shorts are included for each movie.

The Japanese DVD releases of the first three Pokemon movies include the English versions in widescreen.

Never watched these ones, these came along at a time when I had pretty much lost all interest in Pokemon (and if I may make a possibly controversial statement, I always thought Digimon was the better of the two). Still, I may pick these up when they go down in price, if only for nostalgic reasons, and if Warner ever decides to put the first three out on Blu-ray, I'd certainly buy Mewtwo Strikes Back and possibly 2000 and Pokemon 3.

WB need to release the first three (and Mewtwo Returns), because those were the best. I stopped watching the movies after 4ever. 2000 was the best followed closely by the first movie.

What would really be great would be the first season on Blu-ray. I would actually buy that instantly. I have 99% of the first season's episodes recorded on VHS. Man, those were the days.

I stopped watching after 4Ever, too. I don't think I have a "best" one out of the first three, they were just great. Come on Warner, release them. First season as well.

Yeah, I think they went overboard after 4Ever. I hear there is something like 18 movies now? overkill...and this is coming from someone who was a MASSIVE fanboy back in the 90s/early 00s.

I did want to give Heroes a try though but I lost interest by the time it came out here on DVD. 4Ever was the last one I bought.

Now up for pre-order at Amazon. Not gonna get this until its down in price since I already own 4ever but if they release the first on bluray I'd get that. was trying to "catch 'em all" on DVD but if they're going to release them all on bluray I suppose I better stop and wait!
