Default If you loved Con Air or The Rock, you will LOVE Crimson Tide...

Crimson Tide easily has as good or better PQ and AQ than Con Air or The Rock. It's on the same level as those 2 excellent catalog titles. Don't hesitate, buy this title today!!

I'm seriously considering getting this in the next couple of days, I love Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington, and I loved the Hunt For Red October. How does it compare to that movie?

Crimson Tide, in my humble opinon, stands out somewhat more than its near equal the Hunt for Red October. Now if Harrison Ford had played Jack Ryan in that it would of been enough to push October past Tide. The conflict between Hackman and Washington in Crimson is so tense you just feel it in your gut. I would give Crimson 4 1/2 stars and October 4, they are that close.

Just watched The Rock last night for the first time and I was wowed with the picture. Will be getting to Con Air tonight and I'm sure I won't be disappointed. If Crimson Tide is as good then its a homerun.

I've never seen this. It looks like it may be a blind buy for me.

Some are definitely. I noticed something at the very end when the camera zooms into Jason Robards face. The camera was focused on his yellow/gold decorations on his shoulder. This is something we probably never noticed before watching the VHS/DVD versions but it's very clear here. Instead of the camera focusing on his face, it focused on his shoulder. Obviously that's not due to any part of the remastering of the movie to Blu but because it's in HD now, it's very noticeable.

Go check it out and see if you concur...

Exactly my feeling. Overall great PQ though, but The Rock is still better. Then again, The Rock, Con Air and Crimson Tide are all great PQ(older catalog titles) compared to a new release like Jesse James from Warner. Warner needs to man up and start producing like these other studios. "Good enough" may work for HD DVD, but not Blu!

I did not like Crimson Tide its just another movie put out to show the military in a bad light. you have the war mongering captain who wants to launch with out orders (something that can never happen). then they throw in a mutiny for good measure the morel of that movie is we should get rid of SSBN becuse some crazy officer will start a war.

Correct if I'm wrong lol, But I'm about 99.9 percent sure that the opening scene from Crimson Tide and The Rock are identical in terms of the Set and Stage Props they used. In fact they could have filmed them right after each other, with the rain effects and the steel fence.

Anyways I just picked up Crimson Tide as well along with Jesse James. Sadly I can't seem to find Wall Street Anywhere in retail stores I might have to buy this one online.

Oh it doesn't really bother me about the PQ, I'm one of those odd balls who missed DVD, because I didn't have a good TUBE'd TV and now I'm full in gear with the HDTV, high end PC, and Surround Sound Setup. So I don't mind watching good flicks regardless, so if it's better then DVD it's better then DVD.

Also you get a few dollars off if you use the Buena Vista Coupon which works as well. I got my copy for 10 dollars using 2 coupons, and will get Gone Baby Gone next week the same way.
