Far Cry 3 - Blu-ray Forum

I played Far Cry on the PC and loved it but I never did get into Far Cry 2 and now Far Cry 3 is out this year I though I'd start a new post as I found some gameplay footage. Not sure if I'm going to get it myself but some of you guys may like it.

I never played the Original far cry on the pc but i did enjoy instincts and i played far cry 2 but i couldn't get into it because of the maleria and some other stuff that ruined the game but i'm really looking forward to far cry 3 and i'm glad Ubi decided to go back to the tropics.

So Far Cry 3 is a must buy for me.

I just downloaded the free Far Cry 2 from the PSN to try out again.

I was disappointed with Far cry 2, it got boring fast, quite a hard game too

Can't wait for this game. Played the first one as well as Instincts, but never did play the second, but want to. September is too far away...

Yeah, that really sounds like Nolan North of Unreal Tournament, Uncharted, Arkham City, Prince Of Persia, Call of Duty Zombies, Army Of Two and a couple of other games fame!

Just saw this while I was shuffling through YouTube. As much as I was put off by Far Cry 2, I will admit that this one looks great!

I just downloaded the full Far Cry 2 game last week and now have deleted. Way too much wasted time driving and the bushes and cover is worthless for the AI. This looks really cool however.

I know! I owned FC2 when it originally came out & never finished it & then traded it in for something else.

Did the ever fix the save issues on the ps3? Ps3 was limited to saves at the huts/safe houses and that was a pain in the butt. I hated this game for that reason... those were just too far from the main quest.

I played it on this on the pc and it allowed you save whenever via a quick save. That option alone made for a much better playing experience since enemies come out of anywhere at any give time in that game.

Awesome! Thanks for the news, OP. I was a huge fan of the original for PC, and although I enjoyed FC2, the playing style was a bit of a letdown as I was expecting a straight-shooter

like the original. I hope FC3 goes back to the original style! Definitely a Day 1 purchase for me if it does, though I'll likely go PC.

I don't know if they ever changed the save style, but I abandoned the PS3 version for the same reason and also switched to PC. I think once I passed the 40% mark on the PS3 I couldn't move 10 feet without constantly being harassed by RPG toting natives. It got annoying FAST. I don't mind challenging games, but this was just stupid-annoying by comparison. But even then, after having to replay everything from scratch on the PC, it got old so fast that I don't think I ever went past 60% completion.

Sure there is. Just pick up Ninja Gaiden 3 next month. I'm sure the Platinum track will be just as nearly ridiculously impossible as Ninja Gaiden 2, so that by the time you get the Plat 6 months later, Far Cry 3 will be out.

Is this series possibly the only game franchise where sequels have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with each other? I mean, having played FC 1 and 2, i didn't see any connection to the 2 games and this seems to continue that trend.

The game changed developers. But retained the name for franchise purposes. Which isn't unique. Devil May Cry. Command & Conquer. Knights of the Old Republic. Fallout. Lots of games!

Yeah, i kind of thought so. Shit, i spent so long trying to work out the connection between Far Cry 1 and 2 only to realise that there isn't one!

I kpet thinking that it was something to do with The Jackal or something.
