Cool. Haven't seen this, but really like the first one.

Hope it comes in a slip, like the first film.

Yeah I kinda like the first one, its not aged well but it has some charm, charm enough for me to get it on blu ray. This one however is a stinker! the third one is better and thats terrible, if thats any help

I like all three, in a late-night pizza-and-beer creature-feature kind of way.

The first one's obviously the best in breed — it's literate, inventive and at least tries to bring something new to the genre table. Some of it doesn't really work (for me, pretty much everything to do with the autistic kid, a subplot which doesn't seem to find its level, and F Murray Abraham's role, which seems doomed to be merely expository and slightly spectral to no good effect), but who knows how much of that is due to Weinsteinism?

The second film advances the plot a little, and is reasonably well executed, but is mostly just a bog-standard critter movie. Not that there's anything really wrong with that! But I'd love to see something more substantial done to evolve the idea of the Judas Breed. (Yeah, I love it when franchises turn into completed, cross-referential story arcs; it doesn't happen often enough! Even if they can find sufficiently clever writers, I guess studios usually want to leave the chance open to squeeze one more copy out of the carbon paper.)

The third film, that's an interesting sidebar, really. It's in many ways a riff on Rear Window, but with bugs! I find it quite interesting, but not a satisfactory conclusion to the franchise as a whole.

I have the 3-film set from the US, and am really glad I bought it. The first film is the director's cut, and has all the same features as the stand-alone UK release. Films 2 and 3 come on the one disc. Unfortunately, the set is locked to region A.
