Default Issue while viewing Blu-Ray on my 60A3000

Hey, I put in my blu-ray of "The Descent" in the other night, and in the darker scenes, I noticed what appeared to be mosquito noise arranged in a faint, grid-like pattern in the darkest parts of the frame.

Here is what I'm running:
Samsung BD-P1400
Connected via Monster 1000hd Ultra HDMI cable (4 ft.)
into Sony KDS-60A3000

I don't know if this is a setting with my tv or not. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
-Jake

Have you calibrated your TV?

Yes I have.
I set the set to the settings listed on C-net's review of the set, and then ran the THX Optimizer on it under the lighting conditions I watch all of my movies at. I didn't have "noise reduction" turned on, but that shouldn't matter should it?

How high is your sharpness? I would set it at min.

Experiment with NR, Detail, Brightness, Contrast etc. All of them. See if it makes a difference. There are scenes with grain in the Descent due to the low light level in shooting, but some dark scenes look very pristine too.

I am aware of the grain in the movie, but that does not bother me. This was noise that was a lighter and of a beige-ish color. It also stuck out because of the rough pattern it was arranged in. I will experiment with the different settings, and I also have the Blu-Ray of DVE ordered, but I won't get it until the end of March.
The Descent stuck out in particular because all of the other Blu-Rays I have watched have looked as they should. The Descent is the only one that has had this problem.

Jake, I have the 55" version of your television. Turning noise reduction on to "High" eliminated what seemed to be mosquito noise throughout the picture when watching FF:Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Be advise that TV NR remove detail..so be very cautious with that option. The whole game in HD is to get fine detail. If you destroy it with NR, better just use DVD upscaling.... Play with the setting to see what fit the best..
