Post BDP-S1 Qestions

Can the speed of the player (load times) be reduced by a firmware update. It takes a long time for the player to load a disk. My only complaint about this player.

Please don't think that we are ignoring you, but I think the short answer is, no one knows. We would have to know what the unit is actually checking for during the start-up of any Blu-Ray Disc, and that is just not known at this time, other than the basics. I would say that if the Blu-Ray Disc format and production came to a final agreed upon stance on how they are to be produced, i.e., to BD-J or not to BD-J and how, and if they do enable BD-J across the platform, do it a way that is in sync with the masses. Once that is done, I am under the impression that Sony can affect the load times in the consumer's favor.

My 2 cents...
