The 'Dayton Audio SA240-B 240W Subwoofer Amplifier with Boost' perhaps or pay a little more and get it in a box so it's maybe a little more estetically pleasing? Last edited by spaceape; 10-30-2011 at 08:32 PM. |

I was looking at the possibility of buying a Buttkicker LFE system, which I had looked at in the past but never purchased. But it seems that most Buttkicker products are now out of stock at most online retailers, including at the Buttkicker store. I searched the web and can't find any mention of Buttkicker's demise, but am wondering if that is the practical reality. Can anyone shed any light?
And can anyone suggest a Buttkicker alternative, preferably one that is similar to the Buttkicker in cost and performance? Thanks. |

Its too bad, I just ordered a Silver Clark Synthesis and it sucks compared to the Buttkicker. Much less shake and power. |

I'm surprised that I cannot find the ButtKickers (ButtKicker LFE Kit) in the HT Gear section of this site... Is there a location that I'm missing?
I ask because its literally an integral part of my HT system & can't imagine life without them! I don't know how many others have actually tried these & not purchased a set after demo'in them!. I can say that 100% of my friends that have come over have bought the ButtKicker LFE Kit after trying it (So long as they could afford it) & they love it. Most actually bought the BK LFE system prior to buying their subwoofers! Just a note: If you live in Apartments or a place like on Post/Base housing (Military) it's extremely nice to have mind blowing Bass & Explosions that the neighbors cannot hear ![]() So, Where's the section? Anyone? Thx in advance! Last edited by Waszak1977; 02-23-2012 at 02:49 AM. |

I have to admit some amazement that a company can afford to remain out-of-stock on virtually all of its products for months at a time - especially through the highly profitable Christmas season - and itself remain profitable. But it leads me to believe that the home-product Buttkicker line is a side-light, and not its primary profit source. Anyway, good news for anyone interested in buying one of their products in the near future... |

I'm interested in trying these out, seems cool.
2 questions: 1) Do the bass shakers work under a bed? I don't have box spring, just the mattress with frame and its where I sit while watching movies. I'm aware mattress are design to absorb vibrations but wondering if anyone done it before. 2) Is it possible to use the plate amps without building a box for it? Thinking about getting this. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=300-805 |

Edit: I found the answer to my question on parts express Q&A, seems I need an even number of shakers to provide equal power although i'm not quite sure since some people use 3 on their couch from what I read ![]() Last edited by OneDropCode1; 01-14-2012 at 10:18 PM. |

I'm hoping someone that actually has Transducers set up can help me here. I have a 2 person Ikea couch. I was thinking about getting two:
Clark Synthesis TST209s http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=300-861 and a: Bash 300W Digital Subwoofer Amplifier http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...er%20amplifier Here are my questions: 1. Are two Transducers enough for a 2 person couch? 2. Is there a big difference between the TST209's for $79 or the next level up at $130 each? 3. Can I mount these to the frame of the couch or do I need to have something as a buffer to protect against heat? Thank you very very very much in advance! |

I found stuff started wiggling after a year, flipped it over & ![]() My new HT Couch system (Same just 4 seater) is re-enforced every which way, I just spread out all 4 buttkickers & it handles the 2000watts fine now.. I still never get over the explosions, & I've been around plenty of the real deal. This is safer & fun is all! Oh, & you can hear afterwards ![]() |

Which would be better for me, Two or three Dayton Audio mini pucks or a single Aura Pro for a single Lay-Z boy recliner chair?
Mounting them on the chairs should be easy and I already have a spare plate amp. Just wondering which would be stronger overall. Can easily put the shakers on the bottom of the chair, but not on the rear (back portion) of the chair. Or should I just save some more $ and get something bigger like two Aura's or a Clark? ![]() But I think there is an important factor indicated in the manual that gets overlooked: bracing. The manual says to use hardwood, not MDF or plywood. It is all about transferring the vibration from the shaker to your body. As I understand it, using soft materials for bracing creates loss of energy from the transducer as the bracing flexes. I would with hard wood backed with steel rods (ones you can get for adjustable wall shelves). I built a double "H" structure under the couch and attached it to the rigid, structural frame of the couch. Used construction adhesive and angle brackets where I can. Finally, don't forget to put rubber feet on the couch. I guess what I am saying is, based on my experience with the Clark transducers, it isn't about adding more shakers. Clark makes some strong transducers (at least I can vouch for the silver). For a mid to small couch, one is plenty IMO... as long as you install it properly and provide proper bracing as per the manual. As for heat, I don't think it runs hot... well the driver doesn't run hot... don't know about the amp if over driven. ![]() |
