Well, with my XBR5 purchase in Q407 I'm one of those stats.

The price points of Sony LCDs suddenly dropped and didn't feel as harsh as before. Sony has always positioned itself as a high end product but the cost isn't quite the premium given the quality of their new LCDs IMHO.

What stood out for me:
"Sony was the leading brand in the 40- to 44-inch, 45- to-49-inch and 50- to 54-inch screen size segments, according to the preliminary findings."

That suggests the main focus of their consumer LCD Bravia range is doing well. Sony TV division execs must be VERY happy right about now. That'll mean stock options and bonuses for sure.

yeah man i sold primarily 95% sony's when i worked retail for all of 07. Even tho the samsung rep would give me 10$ gift cards for every samsung i sold he'd always ask sell any samsungs.. id go" Nope i told the guys looking for a samsung to buy a sony instead"
