I really love this movie but I might just have to buy it and ignore the thread about it. I'm not ready for Fright Night again.

Will be definitely buying this. A really fun, if a little overlong, film.

Yeah, I'm pretty shocked this isn't getting a wider release. I wasn't going to hold my breath for features but didn't expect this. Will this be available through Amazon or do I have to go through Twilight Time? I'm not even familiar with them, to be honest.

You'll be able to get it on Amazon, but thru Screen Archives as a third party seller. Honestly, if you really want to get it--your best bet is preordering directly from Screen Archives' site. Realize though, it'll probably be $29.95 plus shipping.

TT does put up a link on amazon, but this one might even sell out in pre-order. you never know.
people need to finally accept that Sony isn't going to be releasing many more older catalog titles imo.
Honestly, they have over 2 billion other things to worry about right now, and it's just a very sad situation for people that love the Columbia film catalog.
Hopefully they will at least keep licensing out the Columbia films or maybe just sell the catalog, a la what Disney did with Miramax.
If they don't want to release the films on bd at least sell the catalog to an entity that does.
I was thinking this film would have come out at least 3 years ago, so the fact that it is going to TT really tells you all you need to know about Sony's plans for catalog bd imo.
I really want The Way We Were on bd, and it doesn't appear Sony has any interest in releasing it on blu-ray.

I watched this for the first time in years the other night. I still really liked, I think I may have even enjoyed it more now that I've got older. When I first saw it, I was 12 I believe, and at the time a pretty big Jack fan. As I got older I never really took the time to revisit it but the opportunity presented itself so I watched it. I have to say some things struck a chord with me that didn't when I was just a kid. I have moderate OCD, used to be worse, and some things he did I used to do and some of the reasons it stopped (people around me) are pretty home hitting.

I will pick this up. I don't care if it's around $29.99 or what not, I should have this title in my collection. (I still have the VHS and DVD)

I don't remember how much I like this but I adore the 3 leads so I will definitely be adding it to my collection, 3000 copies or not.

As Good As It Gets (a romantic comedy /Drama) will not receive the interests, and enthusiasm like Fright Night. To me, As Good As It Gets is certainly not one of those titles that I would eagerly spend $35.00 including shipping and handling to own on blu-ray. And besides, I've seen the movie so many times on DVD, that I don't really want to see it anyway. The video should look fantastic, but the soundtrack most likely will not benefit significantly with lossless audio, since As Good As It Gets is predominately a dialogue driven film.

I am gonna hopefully get a copy of this. Although it seems like threads like this get these horrders and jack holes motivated to buy a bunch of copies. I see that only 400+ people on here bought fright night and it is sold out. Either people on here have bought a bunch of copies to sell and i remember a couple or so saying they did. I hope they get stuck with 'em but by us making a stink about possibly not being able to get one causes this to happen. The only movie people b*%ched about was fright night and fright night is sold out. All other titles are available still. Now if it is not people on here it is other people like ebay sellers that probably cruise the forums and see what would be in demand and buy a bunch of them. There is already a seller on ebay pushing this release for 69.99.
[Show spoiler] As for fright night any one wanna copy for $75....J/K

Not interested in this title. I saw it once during theatrical run and just plain didn't like it. I wont be ordering.

I wasn't alarmed about the state future catalog titles until I saw Twilight Time releasing "As Good As It Gets"...A fifteen year old mainstream film by James L. Brooks starring Nicholson, Hunt, and Kinnear. One that's frequently on TV.

This is terrible news!

Twilight Time produces quality releases. I like their work. No issue with that. I loved Rapture. Its the resurrection of lost films that make Twilight Time heroes.

I'll probably buy As Good As It Gets. Great movie! I simply hate the limited edition model. I can't do it all the time. I'd gladly pay $30 for a desired film, but the limited print model makes it frustrating for financially strapped individuals who aren't always secure each month but still want an opportunity to own a favorite film.

It really concerns me that such a well known 1997 film is bottom priority of Sony Home Video and I'm scared what films are next.

I see a lot of complaining, as usual, instead of the reality: if TT wasn't releasing this, it wouldn't be coming out at all. People should be happy to have it, if you like the movie. Instead of sharpening your pitchforks, realize Sone made a distribution deal with TT and will be releasing MANY films through them.

Do I understand this correctly that there will only be this limited release for the next 3 years...there can't be a European release?

no there could be a European release from what I understand of any title that TT releases. In an interview TT said this agreement is domestic only, but they had no idea if any other releases outside of the US would occur or not.
the releases are all region a locked I believe, so imo there is a good chance some other entity will release some of these bds outside NA.
there do not seem to be even any rumors at the moment though.

So is 'As Good As It Gets' going to be region locked or region free?
How can I find out?

Asking on Facebook would probably be the best route.

I could be wrong, but I thought the contract with TT said that after a title sells out then the rights revert to the studio. Now the studio is not likely to kill TT by releasing something right away, but I don't think they need to wait even 3 years.

In other words, my guess is that maybe 2 years after a title sells out some of these are going to get a studio release. I could be wrong--it's just a guess. But that's my hunch.
