United Kingdom Sendit.com Cancel Dollhouse Season 1-2 complete box set orders!

What a shocker.

Quote:
Hello xxxxx,

Thank you for ordering with us at Sendit.com, order number xxxxxxxx.

I am sorry to advise that we had a limited amount of stock available of Dollhouse Season 1-2 Complete at the promotional price which has since sold out.

We can confirm that payment has not been taken and you are free to re-order at the current price should you wish.

Thanks for your understanding, should you have any further questions please contact us through your online account message centre or on 0844 801 0311 and we will be happy to help you. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Many Thanks,

Sendit.com
Another bullshit 'promotional' offer 'we've run out of stock even though it was promoted on our title page, we never stated the stock was limited and we even increased the price by a pound during the 'promotion.'' excuse. Now I don't mind the occasional pricing error cock-ups (even though I rant on about them) but this promotional crap takes the biscuit. Was the stock they were selling (and let's be generous with the term selling) any different than the new magically in-stock £36.99 stock?

How difficult is it to set up a system where after selling X amount of stock (in this case lets be generous and say X=12), the Availability of the product goes from Availability: Usually despatched within 3 working days. (which hasn't changed at all in the last five-six days), to No Longer Available, or Out Of Stock or my personal favourite Ha-Ha Sucker We Fooled You!

The icing on the cake will be a 100 replies to this thread showing pictures of their brand new and sealed Dollhouse Seasons 1-2 Complete Blu-ray box set in a branded sendit.com cardboard box....

I think this shows why Amazon is the internet's leading retailer, while Sendit.com is... well... to be honest I've never heard of them! I can sympathise though, there's nothing worse than snagging a good deal only to be told they've "run out of stock".

It's been a very long time since I ordered with Send.it, back then they were called different, forgot the name. Back then It wasn't that bad but it seems Send.it does not take it's customer seriously.

I'll have to keep an eye out on the set. I'm sure it will hit 17.99 eventually, the DVD set is 13.99 at the moment from Play.com and £15 from Amazon.

What annoyed my most with Sendit.com is that it never went out of stock, they just changed the price. I wonder if that kind of promoting ever works though, when I'm out shopping if I go to a supermarket for a good deal I may pick up other items because I'm physically there. With an on-line retailer? I just order the cheap Blu's and Log Out!

There's really no excuse for this kind of thing, obviously designed to draw in customers to look at other stuff but by failing to actually deliver on items posted on their front page they will just put people off entirely.
Now I'm left felling like a **** as I had posted the deal, and had gotten some peoples hopes up.

I see I missed the Dollhouse thing, what was that?

I actually bought the 1-2 boxset on ebay not last week? yeah.

Anyways, Send it are absolute crap. I had a big thing with them last year, when I preordered Nikita S1 on Blu. I bought it ages before on there, and then found it was cheaper on HMV or somewhere. Not realising I had ordered it previously, I tried hard tocancel the sendit order, but was too late. Fine, my fault. Then, a week after the confirmation email (the worst dispatch time I've ever had for a blu) I get Nikita S1 DVD.

It takes me about 2 weeks, after searching long and hard to contact details, I had to eventually post a message saying the problem nearly every day, by which point someone different replies (i.e. Sarah from the Sendit Team, Mike from the sendit team) so I got about 4 different replies. Eventually, They sent me the return label information and I sent it off, at my expense. Worst customer service ever. Sorry for the essay and crappy grammer/spelling, but it's been a long day lol.

Moral = Never by from sendit, period.

Is it Sendit that seem to have really good cheap prices, but then add £2 shipping? And not per order but per item. I put 4 £3.99 Blus in basket and then had £8 postage !!!

Sure thats sendit.

Stick to Amazon, Play, Zavvi and HMV. Do not think there are any other online worth buying from.

I was going to add 'It's all DaveSimonH's fault!' in my first post. But I kind of expected they'd jerk customers around so you're off the hook completely.

We'll have to keep our eyes out for a price drop with a reputable company as I'm sure it will hit sub £18 soon.

have been keeping my wee eye on this set for a while.
Didn't notice the above deal mentioned. The singular seasons are 12-13 squids each I noticed which got my hopes up - but if the boxset goes down to 18 squids, I am on it like a bonnet

Was nearly panicking there, but it arrived today, along with my £5.99 copy of Legend, from Play.com.

I feared an accompanying picture when I saw your post pop-up. Cue angry e-mail to those bastards at Sendit.com (although with their track record they'd probably ignore it!). I missed out on the Legend deal as well.

No-one likes you now Sky_Captain, NO-ONE!

But I'm sure you're quite happy!

It gets better though, Sendit.com can't really make up their minds. From HotUKDeals:

Ha-Ha! It seems that Dollhouse has sent Sendit.com around the bend! I think I will compose a comical e-mail voicing my displeasure with their ineptitude!

Out of curiosity how much did you pay Sky_Captain? It seems it went from 10.99 to 13.99 in a matter of hours.

I paid the £10.99,(plus the £1.99 P+P). It was also £11.99 at one point.
If it makes you feel any better, I overpaid for Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, from Sendit. It was £6.99 and I had no idea that it was £1.99 per item, (same order as Dollhouse), yet could honestly not be bothered to remove it and go elsewhere.

That you paid anything at all for Lara Croft: Tomb Raider does indeed make me feel slightly better....
