SingStar for PS2 (Does it work on PS3?)

I was wondering if any of the PS2 games: Sing Star work on the PS3?

I know Guitar Hero I and II, don't. So, I figured I'd better ask before I buy it...

Also, what do you think of Sing Star is it fun?

Well technically Guitar Hero 1 will work if you have the original peripheral and the Pelican adapter. Guitar Hero 2 using the same adapter will only have partial compatibility (no whammying, hammer ons and pull off don't work). But neither will work if you are using the Rock Band or GH3 controller.

You can use the Singstar mics to play Rock Band so I don't see why they wouldn't work. They are just standard USB mics. As longs as you have a PS3 that can play PS2 games (60 or 80 GB) you should be all set.

I have all Singstar Games..and they all work on PS3..they are great party games..or just if you like singing...Buzz!The Ultimate Quiz..another PS2 title with buzzer peripherals..also works on the PS3..another great game...oh yeah..that's on my 60gb PS3..can't speak for the other SKUs

I don't know when exactly but they are going to release a Sing Star for the PS3 this year. It will have it's own download store where you get more songs and albums.

The new singstar cannot come fast enough. Isn't it already out in other regions? What's the hold up folks...

I am able to play Singstar Rocks, Pop, 80's and Amped on my PS3 with the USB mics. Only thing I've found, which I'm unsure is just specific to my 60GB PS3, is that the disc swap feature to let you interchange between the other Singstar DVDs once you're in the game doesn't appear to work. Dunno if anyone has run into this before, and I've already asked in Sony's PS3 forum with no reply

Wow, what a small world Chris. You may remember me from back in the AnimeonDVD days as Ryan Rosal, when I was a regular review poster lol. In regards to the domestic PS3 release, the biggest rumor I'm hearing is that the US version was pushed back due to music licensing issues, specifically in the Store Download aspect of the game. And judging from what I hear in regards to the European release, that may be true, as the music downloads have been reported to be either scarce or mostly crappola. I just hope that the US version will come out as scheduled (supposedly in the latter half of March) with decent DLC.

I heard a May date for the PS3 version. SingStar 90s comes out in March for the PS2. SingStar Pop Vol. 2 is suppose to come out for the PS2 the sametime as the PS3 version in May.
