I don't know much about this film, but seeing as it is from Toho, it does interest me. What is it like? This is presuming it is the film from 1960 that came up on IMDB, and not a documentary

It's a film from just last year. I believe this is it with its original Japanese title http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1666800/

There's also a trailer for it on the blu ray's listing's page on Amazon if you want to view it. But surely you can't really go wrong with a film that's been a #1 box office smash - can you?

The film in that link is for Oba: The Last Samurai, surely that can't be the same film as Battle For The Pacific?

Reading the description it sounds like it could be, but after reading that I definitely won't be buying it, even if it has got the acting legend Daniel Baldwin in it (might as well had been Mike Baldwin)

It's the right film it just has a different title in Japan.

Now only appears to be a very cheap DVD coming out in the UK, so the BD looks cancelled in any form.

Shame, I liked the look of the movie and was a decent price for a new release 'steel'. Ah well...
