Default Release dates not consistent with actual Release?

Hi everyone I'm new to this forum...I have a PS3 and slowly getting into the Blu-Ray craze (I have about 15 Blu-ray discs!)

My question is how come there are certain release dates but when the release dates approach, the actual Blu-ray movie is NOT in stores!

For instance, I was really happy to see that Destiny's Child Live in Atlanta was going to be released on the 20th of this month but NOBODY has it! How come that is? A similar situation happened when Chicago came out, I couldn't find that one anywhere either!

Just wondering if anyone has the answer to this! Thanks!

There have been a few releases that as the release date approached it was announced they were delayed. Some others however are released but are just not available in some stores in the area. I have been looking for The Usual Suspects in my area and cannot find it in any store. Your best bet is too call around to different stores near you (Best Buy, Circuit City, Walmart, etc..) If one doesnt have it try another and so forth. If you still cannot find them anywhere Amazon has had pretty much every release in stock so far so that would be your best bet (plus it is cheaper).

I have it. I got it that week from Borders. (looks pretty 70mm-ish in some shots!) So it was released. But you're right, sometimes it's hard to find the releases. I still have a few holes to fill on my list.

Best Buy has seemed to slow down on it's Blu-Ray and HDDVD aquisitions of late. Initially BB seemed to get everything, as the rack got fuller and fuller that seemed to slow down. I think BB needs another planogram change to allow for more room once again. One consistancy I have seen with BB is that if a title is a day & date release with DVD be it a new release or a remastered catalog title, then Best Buy seems to carry it. For what I haven't been able to get at BB on my discy I have bought at Fry's which is close to what the employee cost is on these anyways, and they seem to carry EVERYTHING!

Amazon seems to be the best alternative to Frys.
