Default FF7 on the PS3 a possibility!

Now this would be amazing!

I have a feeling this will happen. You don't make a PS3 tech demo of the most revered FF game and expect the buzz to go away. I still have it saved on my computer. The only issue is if it was full voiced they would have to get the Advent Children actors to make it complete.

That's my most wanted game right there.

And probably the worlds most wanted game judging from years of GameFAQ's character/game battle results.

I wonder how much it'd cost just to develop the Snowboarding, Motorbiking, Submarining etc minigames up to a standard that people find acceptable. The mind boggles!

Goodness I hope they remake this game. From the mini games to the story and the music, this is by far my favorite RPG. (in the true sense of the genre)

hate to be pessimistic, but I dont really think it will happen. Square Enix has aloton their plate now with two FFXIII games and Kingdom hearts. with the KH remur saying that it will be out by the end of the year!

The only reason I see it not coming out is that they may never be able to meet peoples expectations on it and if it wasn't absolutely perfect people would trash it.

But this is Square we a re talking about, they love FF7 more than we do, so they wouldn't release it until it was perfect!

They would sell 1 million ps3s the day this came out. It is that in demand. I would buy 2 copies, one to put in storage for my kids and one to play, and even then, i'd just stare at the case in disbelief that it exists.

=)

This RPG is revered as on of the greatest RPGs of all time, if this was re-released on the PS3 as an exclusive, i can gurantee you that this game alone will have millions of PS3s shifting

That is how many people are drawn by this game

Exactly if Sony really wanted to sell PS3's they would have had square do this and then work on the FFXIII's

It would be easily the fastest selling FF game ever.

An FF7 remake is what ive been hoping for for a really long time.

I'd play it through soon as it came out. Awhile back there were false rumors of remaking Final Fantasies 7-9 and Parasite Eve for PS2.

I'd jump at any of these. Wouldn't be the first time Square-Enix remade a game. Some were just reprints of the same, others were very nicely overhauled, but I played them all.

Well, since SquEnix has been re-making all the old Final Fantasy games on the DS/PSP, I think it stands to reason that FF7-9 might get re-made on the PS3 and maybe Wii/360.

I agree that this game needs to get re-made. I don't say that about many games (Legend of Dragoon and XenoGears are the other re-makes I'd like to see) but FF7 was genre-defining. It definately deserves it.

Seeing as Sony published FFVII I would doubt seeing it on another console.

The chances of FF7 coming to the 360 are about the same as Amir becoming a priest.

And the Wii is a disgrace to the legacy of Final Fantasy and the goal of having a Playable version of Advent Children. There is only 1 console up to the job with the space, hardware and the following to do it. It is the PS3. No other console can be up to the task of epic gaming.

Many good points raised. I would love to see this more than anything, but I would hate more than anything to be disappointed. A game made for PS1 coming to PS3 with voice acting and all the shining glory would be a big leap, and fans of the original may be disappointed.

If they do this well, it will most certainly be recordbreaking and attract a HUGE amount of attention to the PS3.

Also, Square is now Square Enix, and alot of things are different than they used to be. All of the remakes they have done were just copied over to a new system, but it was the same game.

I think they would have to wait until FF12 and KH are out of the way, and then that would be a big decision.

IMO, I would love to see it, but only if it's going to be true to the original. It would be amazing.

FF7 on the PS3 would take longer and cost more money to make then FF7 on PS1 for obvious reasons.

The only hope Square-Enix will make FF7 on PS3 is if they see the time needed to make the game is worth the money they will make in return. I heard that it would take years and millions of dollars to remake FF7 on PS3. Now I'm sure the game would probably be the #1 selling PS3 game, but would it be worth it for square money-wise to spend 3 years making it?

After the FF13 Crystal Fabula Nova Series is over there should be an announcement. If not, then its waiting for a FF7 remake on PS4.

Your completely right, it would cost Square Enix quite a lot of money as things stand right now but if they did do a remake after the FFXIII and KH, it would be worth their while as their would be more PS3s out there and then it would be a worthwhile return for them if it really does cost as much as your saying to make.

I don't know about you guys, but I would easily drop $100 (US) on a FF7 remake.
