Prototype 2 Steelbook (Best Buy Exclusive)

Best Buy has a pre-order bonus with the Prototype 2 Steelbook for xbox 360 and ps3. It seems to be the same one as Futureshop is getting. I'm personally loving that the USA is finally getting in on these.

I was told by a Best Buy employee today that you will get the Steelbook when you pick up the game. I'm pretty sure he had no idea though so i'm going to just keep checking back. I think that's how they do it at Futureshop though from what I've read.

It's strange that they call it a gift with purchase and has a $4.99 price like it's a pre-order. I went ahead and placed an order for store pickup.

That's not strange at all most futureshop ones have a $99 pricetag, it's just a placeholder.

So does Futureshop charge $99 when you place an order and refund the difference later?

I've not noticed a place holder on BB's site before where you could actually place an order, but I assume the $4.99 I paid for the steelbook will be applied toward the game just like any preorder.

So far it appears as this is how the promo is working. They've been taking pre-orders and giving out the posters for over a week and still no Steelbook's have been delivered to any stores, so my guess is you get the case when you pick up the game on release day.

At Future Shop pre-orders are usually $10. You get the steelbook when you pick up the game, though it was different recently for Assassin's Creed III. The price is reduced to zero when you come back for the game and steelbook.

Just came back from BB and they just so clueless on anything. Basically he said they prob wont get steels in store and its an ONLINE pre order only thing. Cause nothing shows up when he goes to pre order it about a steelbook. Further more, my order would have to be sent to store and then i pick it up with steel on side and i gotta pay 4 bucks for the free poster cause thats sent directly to me seperate.

I picked up 3 AC steelbooks and left... i dont think they know whats going on. But if anyone here can tell me exactly what i need to do for pre order that would be great. The thing is i want to pick it up in store.. AND pick my own steel so i know its not messed up. If i order online.. who knows which they send me.

It looks as if the cases will be sent to the stores along with the game, and they'll probably hand out the Steelbooks on a first come basis. As of this morning there is still 0 listed in the RSS so Best Buy does not even have these in their inventory. Your best option would probably be to order the game and case online for store pickup and the poster for delivery. I just added all 3 to my cart and there was no shipping charge for the poster so I don't know why your end is showing $4.

RSS listed this as 0 in stock as of Sunday 3/11. I checked on Tuesday 3/13 and RSS doesn't recognize the SKU anymore.
