Default LCD-LED with Full Array around $500 or a Plasma?

I have a 47" Phillips its a LCD 60hz 1080p. I am looking to replace this TV in my living room/theater room. Is there any suggestions. I am a sucker for Sony as I have a HTIB and my Blu-ray player is both sony with the AIR control. I would go with something else if the PQ is good and the price is right. Any suggestions guys. Or is Plasma a better bet? I don't know alot about Plasma TV's so some education would be much appreciated.

Thanks

You won't get a full array for $500.

You won't get any Sony at that price either. have you thought about a nice totally square CRT tube tv. Seems to fit your needs.

I'de definitely suggest a plasma at that price range. You might not find a decent 1080p set at that size and price range but you can get a nice 720p from lg or samsung for around your budget. If you are putting this in a very bright room then save up a little bit more and get an led backlit lcd. But if you want full array you are going to have to at least triple your budget. Affordable plasmas beat affordable lcd's in almost every aspect except overall brightness from my experience.

+1 I couldn't have said it any better... For what you're wanting, ESPECIALLY if you want a Sony, you're going to have to at least double your budget... But you can get a nice 1080p plasma for around $650-700.
