Default Screens?

I had heard that certain projection/plasma/LCD screens could be damaged or effected while playing video games or watching films. Can anyone elaborate on that? I am searching for a HD television or projector for my gaming a movies.

It is called image retention, LCD, RP & FP don't get this. CRT & plasmas can get this BUT you would have to leave a fixed image on 24:7 for about a week to leave in a permanent mark. CRT & plasmas can get short term image retention that may last an 1/2 to an hour, most plasma now have srceen saver to protec for burn-ins.
