Default what happens if I use the calibration settings of standard on HD?

Since the blu-ray version of digital video essentials is not released yet, what if I buy the standard dvd and calibrate it accordingly and use the same settings for watching BD on my ps3? Is there a difference I should know about?

you'll get improvement, but it won't get you all the way there. This is only my guess of course.

which is the title of a "competing" or different calibration disc, I know I have seen it listed before but wasn't able to find it. I can wait for DVE, but I think I would like to get more than one anyways to check, etc.

thanks for reminding me

The main problem will be colors. They aren't quite the same between Blu-ray and standard def.

NTSC picture settings are NTSC picture settings.

The basic adjustments of both will be exactly the same. Color, contrast, brightness, tint, etc.

Bluray is not bound by NTSC.
