Default UK Steelbooks

So I'm a total Steelbook noob, but I'm wondering if the UK steelbooks have the rating logo on the artwork or if they are on slipcards or stickers or some sort?

I only want to get Steels with english text on them, but for some reason the UK rating logo drives me nuts.. yeah I'm wierd.

A couple in paricular I've been looking at are Hurt Locker, Paul, and RE-Afterlife

Educate me!

some includes rating logo...some don't...some rating logos are on slipcover, etc.

no, you're not weird, majority hates the rating logo too.

It all depends on the title that you are looking for. If you find a title you like, go find the thread and read about them...most of them will let you know if the rating logo is a sticker or printed on the steelbook.

Recently more and more UK Steelbooks don't have the BBFC logos on them, most likely because they're starting to understand why people buy them. There'll always be one or two that have them, but they're quite uncommon.

As someone whose always lived in the UK the BBFC don't bother because it's what I've always been used to, but for Steelbooks they do bother me a little.

You are not weird! All of us collectors are quite anal about those damn ugly ratings logos AND the "Triple Play" banners. Most, these days, come with the ratings logos as very easy to peel stickers. Retailers got the feedback pretty heavily from consumers regarding these issues. With the way the steelbooks release in several countries these days, the UK conformed pretty quickly to make certain that English consumers would shop them instead of considering other foreign imports.

As for those you specified, I can't speak of personally. I don't have or want them in my collection. So you'll have to seek their respective threads for more answers.

Some have the ratings plastered on them, and some don't.

I know that most of Universal's Triple Play SteelBooks don't have the ratings on them.

Thanks for the replies guys. Looked up Hurt Locker, and it looks like the logos are on the spine but none on the front or back, so that will work. Now to track down the others..

Watch out! I believe that the SteelBook edition of 'The Hurt Locker' is in a G1 sized case (DVD size), instead of a G2 case (Blu-ray size). If you don't mind it being a G1 case then go ahead and buy it.

I know two SteelBooks that definitely don't have ratings on them, Scarface and Paul.

Paramount UK steelbooks don't have rating logos, Disney titles do. I think Universal swing either way and I only have one Fox title and that does.

Really, I was told by quite a few people that it was G1?

I was put off from buying it because I want a G1 SteelBook, but now I think that I'll go ahead and buy it now.

Thanks.

Scunny, that is one gorgeous steel right there.. I must have that. It was one of my favorite films of that year. Although I'm a bit biased to war films. Heck I even liked Green Zone..

I sure will, it'll be a welcome addition to my small SteelBook collection.

Just recently started "collecting" SteelBooks, I only bought them rarely because they wear out easily on the shelf. Luckily, I managed to find clear plastic sleeves (made specifically to hold singular DVD and Blu-Ray cases) to put them in.
