Wink The Chevy Chase Thread

I started this thread because I saw no threads about Chevy Chase. Now I know there is going to be a lot of hate for Chevy but do it else where.

So I want to ask what was your first Chevy film you saw and what is your favorite film/TV show and scene to star Chevy.

Well the first film i saw of Chevy's was Christmas vacation. My favorite has to be Fletch the scene I mostly remember is the hospital scene where he drops all of the documents on the floor and tries to pretend to be a doctor.

Super old thread, but I've been watching more Chase again lately. His career had kind of an interesting path. He was an early stand out during SNL and left early while he was still at his peak. The first Vacation probably has to be a favorite since he was so good for the role of Clark Griswold and his real life grouchiness probably helped pulling off the character so effectively. His role in Nothing But Trouble is kind of an underrated favorite as well and I've always loved that movie.

Unfortunately his failed talk show probably was not helpful towards his continuining career trajectory. However, he was already in his 50s by then and naturally likely going to wane in leading man star power either way. It's interesting because from what I can tell he was among the more engaging guests on Carson's show in the 80s, but he was a terrible host. He's kind of had that attitude of being a narcissistic grouch who doesn't perform as well when the focus of attention isn't on himself.
