I don't whether this has been answered before but will this be a part of StudioCanal Collection or just a plain StudioCanal release?

It doesn't look like it will be part of the collection. I'm wondering whether The Trial will be though

this is great news. i ordered all three in the recent hmv sale. i had hoped for the Bunuel and Welles to be part of the SC collection but was fairly certain that the Carne wouldn't be.

The Discreet Charm Of The Bourgeoisie doesn't have the Studio Canal Collection banner or the usual artwork style and as this is not likely to change between now and July. It is the sort of film that should be though

Oh,apologies!

i was referring to That Obscure Object of Desire not The Discreet Charm Of The Bourgeoisie (I confuse those two titles)

Apologies again,guys.

The Discreet Charm Of The Bourgeoisie will likely NOT be a part of the collection, but The Trial,That Obscure Object of Desire and Port of Shadows will.

This is coming out on Monday. Are there any reviews out yet? I'm curious to know what the PQ is like, I'm tempted to get it but only if they've done a decent job.

Maybe that's deliberate. Every time you try to review it, something will prevent you from completing it...

Actually, the mail just came, and this was one of four screeners that was in it.

Our review will be up very late tomorrow night (Saturday).

The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie Blu-ray REVIEW

Hopefully, Studio Canal will give us the rest of the Bunuel films from the 8DVD set (some already out and announced). And, then, the Mexican films.

I don't get why Studio Canal didn't go all out on this one. Just 1 new featurette? They couldn't even include the featurette from the Optimum DVD?

And for those sticking with the old out of print Criterion DVD, remember that one has the film in the wrong aspect ratio, the lengthy doc is on the BFI "L'age d'or" disc, and only the 25 minute featurette is the exclusive.

This Studio Canal seems to be the best choice currently, but it is a disappointment in the extras area.

The Mexican films are owned by Yume in the UK I think (well, most of the important ones). I'm not convinced that the elements are in decent enough shape to make this a feasible project - I'd actually question whether all but about 3 of Bunuel's films are financially viable on blu-ray at all. I have a feel SC will get burnt on this one...
