Default DVD DATABASE RECOVERY (Update)

Update from the main page:

https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=8895

Quote:
JUNE 10

The complete (or almost complete) DVD database should have been restored. We should also be able to restore at least a few thousand member collections and we are analyzing the crashed hard drive image and there seem to be at least partially intact information, so we are trying to see what we can restore.
You could check titles in the database now...

Thanks! I do have a question, though:

I added quite a few DVDs to the database just last week, and because of that got a "Top Contributor" status for all the ones I did.

I see that all the DVDs I added are back in the search, and the "Edit info" credits me as being the submitter, but I didn't get back my "Top Contributor" status.

Is this something that I should just wait a few days as you guys recover whatever you can, or something I'd have to work at to gain again?

Thanks in advance!

If you don't get it back, it's not hard to earn again. I got it after submitting info. for a couple of DVDs.

The Top Contributor title is calculated once per day and it has now updated and you have your title back and hopefully most of your points

Curious, has all possible recovery been completed on the DVD database? I added several DVD's in other regions like France and UK but notice they are currently not in the database. E.g. China O'brien from France, and Showdown in the UK. So are those still possibly coming or should I resubmit those?

Also, have all the users collections been recovered as much as possible? I am still missing all Blu-ray's and DVD's I have added to the database since April. So I am not sure what that means. I logged on 24 hours before the crash occurred so ...

I guess I don't want to re-enter everything if it is still salvageable. Please let me know thanks!

I'm curious if this applies to the video game section as well. There are a few games I had entered recently that are no longer in the database. I don't mind reentering them, but if they're going to be recovered then I won't mess with it.

Exactly my question. Just wondering what the state of the recovery is at. Is there still more to come?

Hmm.. Then I'm afriad those DVDs are missing
On the good side though is that you should highly likely get your collection back tomorrow, so please hold off updating it today with old titles

Xbox360 and PS3 updates are gone though, so those need to be resubmitted

Thanks! And Nyle, you're right, too; it's not hard to earn it back, and I feel like I'm doing every bit I can to get the site back to normal myself, as well as all the rest of us, by doing our part adding in titles.

My collection was not updated to pre-crash totals... I have no problem reentering all the missing, but can anyone let me know if I will be wasting my time? Are there more updates coming? Thanks for any news.

Can someone tell me how to submit region information for DVD entries? Also, what does the HMV SKU look like and where do I find this information to submit it? Thanks.

I've never seen an option to add region coding for DVDs. In regards to the HMV SKU, you'll have to look at the URL in the address bar to find the SKU. For example:

Code:
http://hmv.com/hmvweb/addToBasket.do?ctx=1000;-1;-1;-1;-1&sku=648955

Ah, okay. I did notice that in the URL but didn't know if it was correct. Thanks!
