Default What is a good price for Thor HMV exclusive steelbook?

Hey,

I am looking for the Thor HMV exclusive steelbook. I want a complete Avengers steelbook collection. Thor is the only missing one.

But what is a reasonable price for this steelbook? I don't want to pay much more than necessary. I see a lot of high prices on eBay, some people ask 70GBP without shipping. I will never pay that for a steelbook.

My maximum price for this steelbook would be 50 euro's with shipping.
That's about 38 GBP... still a lot of money for a steelbook. But it has to be in perfect, new condition (sealed).

Is that a realistic price for the Thor HMV steelbook?

£38 seems like a reasonable budget tbh. my own was £30ish and i would have less luck.

Just keep an eye on the bid versions for others that are sealed and new from HMV when being sold.

Thor UK is at least £40 + . If you get it under £40 thats a decent deal.

I think the cheapest you will find Thor these days is around £35+

luckily I got mine for £5 using gift vouchers from hmv, should have ordered Captain America at the same time :/

I never knew this had increased in value so dramatically. I picked an open but mint copy up in April for around £20. I guess I got a good deal

You may be lucky in a store but none in mine. Some people got lucky a few months back when HMV obviously found some copies and sold them in a number of stores for only £10. Mine as a small one never has any good deals.

Has been OOP for some time now and people know its value was even £20 at release which is what I paid, so very unlikely. Is one of the best produced steelbooks I have as the Paramounts from HMV around then were high quality embossed steelbooks.

I made a few bids in the last minute, but some other people were prepared to pay much more.

It was only 45 dollars in the last minute. When I started bidding, the price increased dramatically... winning bid was 90 dollars!! 45 dollar increase in less than 1 minute, if it goes like this everytime, I might never get a Thor steelbook .

You have to be careful because the last minute bids are usually not fuelled by level headed thinking. They're a bit blind and uncalculated. Stick to your guns and don't pay more than your upper limit.

I just bought Captain Americ steelbookf for approximately £33 which i personally thought might be a bit high but then i realised its the version with a 3D copy so that instantly made it a much better price i guess.

Thor is now the only movie i'm missing and will be avidly looking for it unless a miracle happens and we see re-prints very soon closer to Avengers release.

Wasn't there an asian version as well?

I thought Thor had more than 1 release.

Slightly more 'reasonable' but still a lotta money. Thailand editons for both.

Even if a reissue occurs which is unlikely in the UK will probably be different to the original design as Play rather than HMV now seem to have the Steelbook tie up with Paramount.

For exclusives HMV seem to have Disney (Avengers next), Warner (Sherlock Holmes 2 last title) and Sony (Girl with a Dragon Tattoo last title).

Whereas Play have Fox, Universal (back catalogue 100 anniversary only, others are general release including Jaws and ET) and Paramount exclusives.

Totally agree its one of my favorite steels, a very neat design..I think I got it for about 35.00 or so with shipping to the US.

lmao. Not a chance in hell i'd spend that much money. I would however pay the same £33 i just did for 3D Captain America steelbook for Thor 3D steelbook if they still had stock and call it a day on Avengers Phase I as being complete and ready to be displayed in all it's glory.

I just realized I miss one steelbook: the Hulk one
Which ''Hulk'' steelbook is the best one to buy? (And still available)?

If they do a re-print with different design i'm still happy to have em. They would just turn into another version of the collectors editions we already seem to have just as re-prints of Iron Man in other countries never knocked the value of the FS version, these aren't likely to either. More likely to become just as desired if ever released.

Hulk (Ang Lee) is no part of the Avengers in any shape or form. It's Norton's The Incredible Hulk which ties into Avengers Phase I and thet MCU as it stands right now. No other previous movies to worry bout

Hmm... there are 2 Hulk steelbooks on Play.com. So none of them ties with the Avengers?

a little off topic but what is Captain America worth these days?

I found the Italian steelbook for what seems like a good price on ebay, just wondering what's a reasonable price for it?

update: just ordered capt. america for £19 from ebay.it there's still a few more available I think

This thing has been a nightmare for me to acquire. I got one from Ebay which arrived damaged. The seller told me to keep it and was trying to get me another one, but it was taking so long I eventually told her that the refund was fine.

I got refunded and paid someone on this site for a supposedly mint copy. It is taking forever to receive it.
