Yes I collect some TV shows on DVD still and I also get cheap copies of some movies on DVD to create my own combo packs or as gifts for relatives.

Only TV series I've already invested in before their Blu-rays were available.

Yeah, ofc. There is a ton of content that's not on BD and may never be on BD. It's content over format for me, and if it's the other way around you're doing it wrong.

Definitely, there's plenty of material still unavailable on BD and some that's even unlikely to be given a BD, so why should I deprive myself of enjoying stuff I love just because I can't see it in HD?

I don't understand those that say they will never buy DVD again, it's just stupidity IMO when there's so much great stuff out there only on DVD.

I still collect TV shows on DVD becasue most of them are not available on BD. I don't think we will ever see 'Sanford and Son' nor 'The Brady Bunch' on BD, lol.

They did Hogan's Heroes, Charlie's Angels and T.J. Hooker, or at least HDTV transfers on Universal HD.

So your buying TV shows on DVD that are out on Blu-ray? I would sell them on eBay and upgrade.

I only buy DVDs if there isn't a Blu-ray alternative.

I just ordered 2 seasons of 'Chuck' on DVD. The only TV show I bought on Blu-ray was Battle Star Galactica.

I still occasionally buy an LD or VHS tape of films not available in other formats.

I still buy them when there is a "combo" pack available with my blu. We have bought a couple of DVDs for road trips for the boys, but other than that, I don't.

I absolutely do. I buy movies for my kids on DVD, and if there is a new release that I am unsure I want to own, I will buy it on DVD in a pawn shop where DVD's are $2. If I like the movie, i sell the DVD at my local Hastings for store credit. Quite often, these new release DVD's fetch more than $2, and I actually come out ahead.

I also really enjoy watching cheesy movies, and a lot of them (like the SyFy Maneater series) are not avalailable on blu.

I must admit, as weird as it sounds on a forum dedicated to Blu-rays, that the majority of movies I buy are on DVD. There isn't a reason for this as much as an excuse, but, here in the UK, Blu-rays are released at an extortionately high price and I just can't bring myself to buy them when the DVD alternative is so much cheaper (usually by a good £5/6). I'll plump for a Blu-ray when it has special features on it that I'm interested in, or when the price comes down slightly, but, on the whole, I pick up mostly DVDs (usually from second-hand or pawn shops, and only for a couple of pound at most). With a PS3 that upscales DVDs anyway it doesn't make too much difference for just quiet nights in, but I am trying to get rid of as many DVDs as possible to make way for a ton more Blus.

I buy a lot of older movies on DVD that aren't available on bluray. But studios seem to be picking up the rate of their catalogue releases, so my DVD purchases will probably be slowing down.

I stopped buying new release DVD movies in 2008 when I starting buying Blu-Ray. Since then I have picked up some cheap $5 DVDs here and there.

I went though my DVD collection the other day to remember what I have and I want to Finnish collecting TV shows, I started but forgot about. I don't know if these shows will ever be on blu-ray.
