Well I am Disabled and Mostly Bedridden now, so yes I do have a fair amount of time on my hands.

the reason I called was because I am with Natwest and I was just making sure there hadnt been a problem with my card, which had happened earlier in the week.

And as 99% of my orders from HMV are sent Early Wednesday Morning I thought it best to call and check.

I'm not sure to be honest, I hope so. I think there is a good chance with it being Disney.

The BBFC rated a couple of special features that were released in the USA only on a Best Buy exclusive bonus disc: a documentary called "Populating Mars", and a few Extended Scenes.

Does anyone know if these features are included in the "regular" UK release, of if they are included in any retailer-specific promotion?

I haven't heard of any exclusives but Disney may out the extras on the 3D set and omit them from the standard edition. I'm sure someone with the BD could confirm.

I really enjoyed this at the cinema. I thought it was slightly unfair the criticism it received upon release. Will probably pick this up when the price drops a few quid.

Also anyone think the quote on the front of the cover is really bad?

"Star Wars for a new Generation" It just sounds like it's trying too hard.

Hi all, longtime lurker etc etc...

Just thought I'd sign up to mention that I got my disc from HMV today (unusual this early as I live on the Isle of Man, pre-orders normally arrive on Sat) and noticed a little strange technical stat - the audio on the UK disc is 7.1 DTS-HD High Resolution, capped at 2.0Mbps, in both English and Spanish.

Not sure it's a real biggie, but some people might like to know that it's not full fat Master Audio like the US disc apparently is.

By the way, this is the 2D release. Definitely no slipcover.

Fingers crossed that this will be like Fright Night, and although the 2D gets no slip the 3D does. You never know. Either way, looking forward to getting this.

Amazon yet to dispatch 3D preorder...... not surprisingly. Seriously, how can somewhere as big as Amazon continue to have a preorder system this bad, where evem of you pay for delivery you dont get it on release, whilst HMV, Play, and others, get it to you often before release for free ? If it was not for the fact it was a cheap preorder and I used a Nectar voucher Id have cancelled by now.

Think I'm going to invest, watched it last night and really enjoyed it. I really don't understand the hate this film gets.

Would like to know if the 3D version gets a slip.

It's disappointing if the UK release got an audio downgrade. I don't understand why recently more and more releases have been "gimped" for their European incarnations (removing extras, worse audio/video quality, ...).
Paramount, in particular, has been awful with this, but Disney is also "guilty" of the same thing (anyone remember the lovely The Incredibles European BD release vs the US release... ).

I ended up cancelling my order, and went with the French Amazon.fr edition, which includes the same "exclusive" extras as the US Best Buy bonus disc.

HMV haven't started shipping the 3D edition either - or dropped their price point to match Play or Amazon. I've wound up cancelling my order with HMV and reordered with Amazon to save £2 (or £7 if you don't count the HMV 20% discount from a couple of weeks back.)

Since I placed a bunch of pre-orders with HMV, I've noticed they've been shipping either on the street date or a couple of days later where Play tend to ship the previous mid-week (meaning arrival either on the street date or the previous Saturday). If I can match or better the prices afforded by the 20% discount special that got me to pre-order with them in the first place, I'd rather deal with retailers who can get pre-orders to me for street date rather than a few days late.

Luck of the draw? I suspect they don't ship "first come, first served" so they can take advantage of bulk mailing rates.

I cancelled mine late Thursday after I found it £7 cheaper at Tesco's, it was Despatched last night, so hopefully it should arrive Monday or Tuesday.

Edit: Wow, just got mine from Tesco's, no slip which is a bit disappointing, still excellent service from them
