I'm actually slowly getting out of the slipcover game, so I won't be entering because I plan on selling a large chunk of my collection. That said, I'm going to answer your questions anyway!
![]() 1) Favourite Australian film... so many films come to mind. Most recently, I really enjoyed Red Hill and The Reef (the use of actual shark footage made it scary as hell). I have to say one of my favourites is Rogue, though. It came out around the same time as Primeval, so it was sadly overlooked and ended up bombing at the box office. It's such a good suspense/thriller, though! The crocodile looks unreal and I actually prefer this to writer/director Greg McLean's Wolf Creek. Not only that, but it was the first film I saw with Sam Worthington before he became a huge star and it also features the always awesome/gorgeous Radha Mitchell. [Show spoiler] 2) Where I'd like to visit in Australia... hmm, I don't know. I suck at dealing with hot climates, but I've always loved that country from a distance. With that said, I'd like to visit your house the most and steal some of your collection. ![]() 3) An idea for new media packaging... this is an interesting question. So many things have been done already, so it's really hard to say. I'd like to see some more plastic slipcovers, to be honest (like Transformers and Let Me In). I also think all digibooks should come with plastic slipcovers to help protect them (like the seasons of Spartacus). Something that can't really dent or be ruined by water (or anything else). Like I said, so much has already been done, so it's tough to think of anything I'd like. 4) Favourite Australian actor/actress/director/composer... hands down, Hugh Jackman. Being a Wolverine fan my entire life, this guy came out of nowhere and nailed the role of fierce Canuck in the first X-Men film. Since then, his stardom has reached great heights and he deserves every single bit of that success. Last edited by tridon; 07-03-2012 at 08:44 PM. |

I'm not interested in the Saw III slip but I'll answer your questions:
Question 1: What is your favourite Australian film? Me and my friends watched a handful of Australian films this year. My favorites (had to refer to Wikipedia):
Question 2: Where in Australia would you like to visit and why? I don't know any places in particular, but I'd love to visit someday. |

1. Moulin Rouge - It's a musical so it's a breath of fresh air, it also helps that it's very good. It stars 2 people I like, Kidman and McGregor.
2. To wherever there are Kangaroo's in the wild 3. A steelbook with a thin transparent oled screen slapped on top of it. It would show the trailer for the movie. A small consealed part of the case would house the battery and circuits. 4. Hugh Jackman - He can sing, dance, do broadway, and he's Wolverine. |

1) Crocodile Dundee...duh!! Fond childhood memories there. Mad Max is also up there.
2) I'm an outdoors guys, so there isn't just one location in Australia I'd like to visit. I'd love to experience all the different environs the country has to offer. Just like I couldn't go to one place in England or Italy or France. I lived in Nicaragua for seven years and really enjoy experiencing the local way of life without all the frivolities of consumerism. (says the side of me not addicted to blurays) 3) I know this isnt entirely new packaging, but I'd love to see lenticular spines. The spines are the part of a movie I see the most...why not make them count? 4) Geoferry Rush: What can I say? Extremely talented actor. For some reason I always appreciate the older, seasoned actors more than the new kids. Michael Caine is probably my favorite all time actor but Rush comes in a close second. Like Caine he rarely takes the lead roles, yet often outshines those he acts with. |

1:
Like....films made there or something. Well does the movie Australian counts? Not sure what's Australian in the movie besides the title and 2 main leads. I do love it though. 2: Anywhere really. From what I seen on films it looks nice. Though I would stay away from Koalas. I hear they can rip faces off. 3: Vinyl disc style. Not new though. I had a cd that came in a vinyl disc style package. It's a fake vinyl disc that held a cd in the middle. Probably too big for collections, but it was interesting and haven't seen anything use it before. 4: Hugh Jackman. I really don't know a lot of Australian actors, but I enjoy him the most. PS. I should automatically win cause it's my birthday ![]() |

Question 1: What is your favourite Australian film
Right now it's probably Animal Kingdom - it was dark and dramatic, but also heavily character-focused. There are moments of genuine tension and it's a film that keeps you constantly trying to second-guess the characters' motivations. Gripping stuff. Question 2: Where in Australia would you like to visit and why. I've haven't been yet, but I'd like to visit Sydney - especially around New Year. My sister was at the fireworks last year and returned with stories of how spectacular they are. Question 3: Tell me an idea for a new type of media packaging. The Jello-pak: Your discs arrive safely encased in delicious, chilled jello. There are no sharp edges or abrasive surfaces so your discs remain scratch-free, and wave goodbye to rattlers! Jello-pak gives you a movie AND a snack in one, plus there could be different flavours for obsessive collectors - Limited Edition Lemon? Extended Cut Elderberry? Question 4: what's you favourite Australian Actor/Actress/Director/Composer. Guy Pearce - mostly because he transcended his start as a soap actor and actually built a successful career for himself. Plus I like the choices he makes, he's not afraid to do some fun stuff (The Time Machine, Bedtime Stories, Lockout) amongst the more serious roles (The Proposition, The King's Speech, Mildred Pierce) and he's lucky enough to get offered both. |

1)If I could be a super-hero, I would be called 'The Underdog', a bit of irony
![]() 2)'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' I loved the swedish version although I haven't watched David Fincher's version yet. I'm in the process of reading the book right now. I'm a fan of Noomi Rapace as well, especially after Prometheus. 3)If I had to spend one day with Russell Brand, I would get him really really drunk and take him to the most sophisticated places possible, distance myself from him and have fun watching him go nuts. 4)My favorite Swedish actress is Noomi Rapace (TGWTDT and Prometheus). 5)If I could remake something, it would be Twilight. (No, I'm not a fan of the current books or movies, but there is potential for a good saga). Firstly, the entire love triangle would take a backseat and major plot points would be changed. The first two stories would be condensed into one movie. All the melodramatic parts from the movies (like Bella's suicide) would be omitted. The basic storyline- Bella and Edward meet and hit it off in the first 20mins. Edward tells Bella that he can read people's minds but for some reason he cannot read her mind not matter how hard he tries. He introduces her to his family of vampires all of whom have different abilities, but strangely none of them have any effect on Bella. Now around 45mins in, this other pack of Vampires who run into Bella and the Cullens (maybe in the open area where they play baseball in the movie) and realise Bella's potential. Edward realises that they're planning on informing the Volturi (the law enforcers of the vampires) abut Bella's portential. A major battle breaks out in the field with the vampires using their brute strength and psychic abilites (think X-Men and the vampires from Underworld combined). Bella gets badly injured and Edward has to make a choice between saving her life and chasing after the remaining vamp. Edward saves Bella but the vamp escapes and manages to inform the Volturi about Bella's ability. The Volturi realise that if Bella could be turned, she could become a powerful weapon and also assume her powers would mutate once she became a vampire. The vamp who escaped, hopes for a place with the elite Volturi but Aro (the leader of the Volturi) slowly walks up to him, gently places his on his shoulder, and whispers gently 'You do have a place with us...' <snaps his neck> 'in our sacred tomb down below'. A few centuries ago, the Volturi had developed a drug that would allow the Vampires to walk in the sunlight. This was done as Aro had come across a vampire who had no psychic abilities but could walk in the sun. He extracted her blood and made it a drug. He disposed her off after doing so, so that no one else could do the same. He did however make a few modifications to it. All vamps would require an antidote every year after taking the drug (which has to be taken only once during their lifetime) to avoid intoxication. This allowed the Volturi to have a certain amount of power and control over all vampires. Aro formulated a plan to use Bella's blood (once transformed) to make a drug for himself that would make him invincible to the psychic powers of all other vampires, making him more powerful than ever before. But he couldn't risk attacking the Cullens without a reason as this act alone could stir a rebellion if word got out to the other vampires. Meanwhile, Bella re-kindles her childhood friendship with Jacob (no, there is no romance or love triangle). Vampires are infact required by law (by the Volturi) to kill any werewolf on sight. The werewolves have been driven to near extinction. Any vamp not doing so would result in severe punishment, many often times execution. Edward realises that he mustn't give the Volturi any reason to attack them but realises that Jacob's clan is actually a pack of shapeshifters, not werewolves. Jacob and Edward's clans meet and plan on using their shapshifting abilites to infiltrate the Volturi.... That's where I would go with it anyway. It certainly has a lot of potential if you drastically alter the storyline while keeping certain elements of the original books. 6)Apple. I actually own many of their devices (iPod Classic, iPad first gen, Macbook Air (2012) ) and the one thing I love is their operating system (iOS and Lion). That Kick-Ass slipcover looks kick ass(pun intended ![]() Last edited by srinivas1015; 09-22-2012 at 07:18 AM. |

Question 1:
If I was to be a superhero, my name would be The Merc. My special power is incredible accuracy with guns so I NEVER miss a shot, ever. My cause would be to rid the would of evil doers of course! Question 2: My personal favorite foreign film would have to be John Woo's Hard Boiled. That movie has some of the most insane action ever, and it spawned one of my favorite video games, Stranglehold. Question 3: Honestly, I would probably just sit in a room and do absolutely nothing with him. I don't like him at all and I can't stand him in films. His voice drives me nuts. Question 4: Gotta go with my man Dolph Lundgren! Question 5: I would make a sequel to Inception, with none of the same characters. A spiritual successor if you will, but it will still be around dreams and going into them. Just an entire new cast with a new story, so it wouldn't be about planting ideas but something else. Question 6: Apple! iPhone for life! Though I have to wait until October 5th for the iPhone 5 even though I pre-ordered only 3 hours after it was available ![]() Can I just mention that I would not like the Get Him to the Greek you are giving? I do own the movie, but man I hate Russell Brand so much haha. I would gladly love either of the other two though if I happen to win. I wouldn't want to take something somebody else might want.
