I've played all the current shooters out, MW3, BF3, and even got Goldeneye Reloaded, and I have to say without a doubt, Socom 4 Demolition DLC pack is the best of 'em all I usually spend my time playing Standard Demolition/Standard DLC Medley and of course Classic Demolition. If you haven't been on in a while, I highly recommend it now. The community is still good, and it is usually super fast to get into a game in any of the modes I listed above.
Start out trying to mod up a submachine gun, either a PDW or KP5. Send me a friend request Swordfish64 if you want to play.
As a fan of the previous Socom games, I can honestly say that I miss a lot of the old features they left out from this game, but that being said, Socom 4 is still the best shooter on the market IMO and the Demolition DLC is a must. The game is 1,000% better since that DLC came out

Slick, the Standard respawn modes are a lot of fun. The Demo DLC added 4 great maps, Bitter Jungle and The Ruins are two remakes that were done magnificently (graphics are , and the other two new maps, Overflow and Departure are also great

Decided to revisit this title this week. Ugh. Its become a spawn camping n00b tube fest. After tiring of respawning and getting blown up repeatedly I put SOCOM Confrontation in and the game is smoother than I remember and runs great. The contols are a little funky but you get used to them. And there are many people still playing it. No n00b tubes and it was lots of fun.

So with Zipper gone, I guess that this will be the last SOCOM unless Sony decides to give it to another studio, like, Slant Six (ugh).

Sad to see. I keep wanting to get this one.

I really enjoyed playing Confrontation some times, but it was just too... cliquish. I'll never forget getting kicked to make room for clan members etc even though I was outplaying many of their weaker members. Oh well. More Starhawk.

I didn't get kicked playing SOCOM Confrontation and was in a room with a clan. I just didn't team kill anyone and got some kills. LOL, I was trying to remember how to turn on night vision and just stayed in the spawn. After a couple of rounds I ventured out of the spawn, after remembering how to play.

But all the n00b tubes, on 4, ugh. Not always, worse on some maps but I remember SOCOM 3 where no one used the under slung grenade launchers.

I believe the DLC Medley rooms for both Standard and Classic modes have GL's disabled. Give em a try, I got back on recently too and had a blast. I'll be on this till Sony gives us a Socom HD collection and/or a new Socom title.
On another note, I bought the Blu ray of Act of Valor and watched it last night- Awesome movie !!! I had to jump on Socom after watching ! It really brought back the PS2 era Socom vibe.
