As John Candy and Eugene Levy have stated themselves their SCTV stints were their best work by far. A&D is just average.

Upon comparing it to the 2002 Columbia/Tri-Star DVD, I found there is in fact a mastering error that occurs on this Image Blu-ray during the Guard Dog Security classroom scene (around the 00:11:00 mark), in which Eugene Levy is sitting next to the ex-convict who tells Levy: "You look like a guy who defended me once on an assault charge." On the DVD (which is correct) the ex-con does a double-take at Levy before delivering the line, and on the Blu, several previous frames leading up to the comment are recycled/repeated.

For those who have the DVD, I'd recommend doing a comparison, and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. Extremely aggravating! Stick with the DVD...

I highly doubt it...this is a bargain bin title now, and there's no way they're going to spend the money to fix what they probably consider something most viewers won't notice anyway.

Nope, not worth the time or trouble. This is one of those discs that barely looks better than its DVD predecessor...so I'm just sticking with the DVD. Even if Image did correct the error and re-release it, I still wouldn't rebuy.

Perhaps...but sadly, like many other Blu-ray discs with annoying mastering errors (especially those from smaller and/or independent studios), it's the type of thing that should never have slipped past the quality-control departments (before being released) in the first place.

Underrated Candy flick IMO. Watched it again yesterday. I had a blast with it. I remember hearing Ramis asked for his producer credit to be taken off this film. Wonder why?

I think Ramis was put off that the movie turned into sort of an action movie/comedy hybrid.

I am all for fixing editing errors like this (Starship Troopers US Blu had one even worse), but this Blu-ray's video quality actually is pretty good. I think "sticking with the DVD" is an overreaction and doesn't make much sense to trade in the filmic picture of the Blu due to the above editing error. While it would be nice for it to be fixed or a fixed re-release to occur, the odds of either of these happening is pretty slim IMO given this movie's low popularity.
