Anyone know if we will be getting the big box set collectors edition of Titanic that the USA and UK are getting?

Nothing listed on the Fox website.... JB would be the most likely to get an exclusive, but I haven't seen them advertising one...

Is the US getting this as well? Hmm, haven't seen that. So far, I've only seen it listed by Czechoslovakia, France, Japan and the UK.

So is the US one a sold-out limited edition as well?

Germany are selling it too I believe.
I was going to order it but decided to just stick with my 3D version.

I so wanted something released here. I wasn't quick enough to snap up a UK one. If they were gonna be on shelves I would of had luck as I go to the UK at the release date.

I would order the US version, but how can we be sure that it will be region free?

It's Paramount, they have a pretty good track record (98% or so region free titles).

Titanic was released by two studios: Paramount in the US and 20th Century Fox in the rest of the world. Other films that were released by Paramount in the US, but by other studios in the rest of the world (like Gladiator - Paramount and Universal - and Braveheart - Paramount and 20th Century Fox) were region A only releases in the US and region free releases in the rest of the world. So, I'm not that confident the US release will be region free.

Well spotted, joseph_m!

Me, I'll just be getting one of the standard releases. No criticism of this one, just the usual problem for me of having nowhere to put the thing!

That is surprising to see Big W get it... though I have to wonder if Big W and JB aren't in bed together somewhere as it seems odd that Big W keeps getting titles that were previously JB exclusives....

May buy... want to see it "for real" first though.

Is there any informaton as to the exact contents of the discs? I certainly don't want to buy something that has the same special features that are on the 4 disc dvd release.

^ A set like this should have all the special features from any pre existing DVD release.

Yeah but it doesn't; none of the sets announced anywhere so far do.

(Mind you, I bought the 4-disc DVD set last time round, and I'd say a good half of the extras weren't worth paying for.)

I suppose they have to keep that Quadruple-Dip window open.
